I walked back home after my call with Jayden, and I could feel my eyes stinging, trying not to let my tears fall. I arrived an hour later and my heart swelled at the thought of seeing my grandmother again after almost a year. I ran to the cabin and I could see that it was empty.
"Grandma?" I called her in her native language, "grandma, where are you?"
I looked out, maybe she was on the field, so I decided to take a walk there, but there was no one. My heart started beating fast and I looked for her everywhere.
"Grandma!" I called one more time. I went inside the cabin once again, trying to look in her belongings, when I found a yellow envelope with my name written. That was the only thing she knew how to write.
