Chapter 0027 - Stranger's Eyes

1348 Words

Memories torment Carter, tearing him apart. As he entered the house, he was greeted by silence. His eyes immediately searched for Mari, who was taking care of his son. "Where is he? How was he today?" he asked as soon as he saw her in the kitchen, preparing dinner. "He just fell asleep, sir. He was tired from playing. He made some drawings; they're in his room," Mari replied, and Carter nodded. Without wasting any time, Carter went straight to Colton’s room. Though not perfectly executed, they were impressive for a five-year-old. His imagination was extraordinary. Looking at Colton, Carter saw Dahlia's eyes again.
