Chapter 2 Trevor fumbled at the phone buzzing in his jeans pocket, hoping to see who was trying to call before the dang thing shut itself down. Sure enough, the red battery icon flashed on the screen for a second before it went dark. He stood still on the cracked black asphalt parking lot of the convenience store on the outskirts of town, sweating and wondering if he should go back in and beg their phone for a minute.
