That one word put her at ease.
Feeling relieved, she moved closer to him and lifted her hand to his jaw. At her soft touch, he clenched his jaw. She rubbed her thumb over his mouth, and he covered her hand with his. He slid that daring thumb of hers inside his mouth and gently bit the delicate pad.
He heard her soft intake of breath and put her hand away from him. “Do not push me. I am barely holding on as it is.”
He had a tenuous grip on his lust, and he was remarkably close to the edge.
She met his gaze for a long moment. “I go to the doctor on Friday.”
“Why?”
“It is a follow-up visit, my post-partum checkup. It is likely that I will be released for all normal activity.”
Wanting to remove any confusion on his part, he asked, “What does that include?”
“Everything,” she sai
