Unable to tear her gaze from him, Vanessa felt something snap and shimmer between them. They were not husband and wife due to a lack of effort on his part. It was her who had been dragging her feet, delaying…asking for the wedding to be held until after the baby was born. So, it was insensitive and rude of her to throw their unmarried status in his face.
