Vanessa’s hands were shaking as she turned onto Nick’s street Friday after working at the pharmacy. It had been one week since she started her new job and a hard-won battle to be able to drive herself to and from work.
Nick had vehemently objected to her driving herself. But she had fought tooth and nail for that right. The media had simmered down and she had felt confident this level of independence would be good for her overall morale.
