16 Katherine buried herself under the covers the next morning, smelling Dillon on the sheets. She wondered if he’d notice if she took something of his so she could remember him. Maybe if she asked, he would give her something. The thought of leaving weighed heavier and heavier on her mind. She was not looking forward to going back to her life. She loved being Kate Maddox, but she didn’t want to have to give up Dillon. She knew she couldn’t have both, though. He didn’t want her life, and she did. Which meant she either had to give up the career she’d worked hard for, or she had to give up Dillon. She wasn’t sure which would be harder.
