DEDICATION

316 Words
This book is dedicated to the down played masses who are being overlooked by society, those who are trying to succeed in life but can't find help, those who are affected by the current devastated economic situation and those who are feeling helpless as to what they can do to secure their Future Chapter One We were on our way to the farm, just about when I was 9 years of age. My parents and I lived in Zorzor District, Lofa County with my elder brother and little sister (three in numbers). Daddy said to us “I think it's time we leave this village and move to the City (Monrovia) to pursue a better life”. We all were excited because we have heard so many good things about the city. Girls who came from the city always look different from us; they dressed better than us, speak well than us. Every other girl, boy, or guy will want to be their friend. Yes our Pa, yes our pa, we all shouted. When will we be leaving? We asked, “very soon”. He replied. By the middle of 2006, we traveled a long distance using a vehicle (bus) on a very rocky road with many other passengers on board. Finally, we reached a very big city called Monrovia. Monrovia is our capital city. We learned that in our school back in the village. We were all amazed at the big city. Things here were different from things back in the village, there were many people everywhere and their movement got my head swinging. However, we boarded another car that took us to where we would be staying. at the ELWA Community. Uncle Robert! Uncle Robert! I shouted along with Quita and Lawrence running toward him, he embraced us! Oh Wow! “Look at you my beauty queen,” said Uncle Robert and he was right about that I'm truly beautiful.
