Chapter 7

Edward's pov

As I began to wake up I felt cold and kind of lonely. I ruffled around in my duvet searching for something but I couldn't remember for the life of me what it was. Then as I opened my eyes and took in my surroundings it hit me. Where there hell was my mate and what the hell am I doing back at home? 

While I sat up my mother walked in as if her motherly instincts had kicked in and she knew I was awake and confused, "So your finally awake"

"What do you mean? How long have I been asleep and how did I get here also...."

My mother then stopped my rambling and proceeded to sit on the bed next to me, "Slow down Ed I will answer all your questions. First of all you we found you on the forest floor on one of our patrol runs yesterday evening so we brought you home; you have been asleep from then till this afternoon. We also found you covered in a blanket of leaves with a note to the side of you which I did find quite odd."

Suddenly my ears perked up, "Note? What note?"

My mother looked at me with wonder filling her eyes "Why are you so curious about the note?"

Quickly I thought o an excuse still praying that the note was from my mate, "Its a note anyone would be curious"

"Yes that is true but you seem very curious, more curious than usual. What are you not telling me?"

As I sat there looking at my mother I contemplated whether I should tell my mother about my gorgeous mate or keep it to myself. "Well I met someone, someone who in the werewolf world would be considered my mate"

At first my mums eyes lit up and she seemed so excited, but just when she was about to say something her face changed to one of sympathy and sadness. Then I wondered what was on the note that would make her look such a way. So again I asked "what is on the note mother?"

She pulled out a this piece of line paper folded up to a little square shape. As she passed it to me not a single word left her lips, I took the note and quickly opened it up to be greeted with a whirl wind of emotions flooding into me. shock, anger, sadness all over took me and I just sat back against my bed starring at the note. It read, "I'm sorry we cant be together you deserve someone better, someone not broken."

I didn't know what to do or what to think. So I sat there for what must of been at least 30 minuets in silence blankly starring at the note, until I snapped myself out of it. I looked up at my mum asking her, "Why would she write this?"

She looked at me with sympathy still covering her face and sighed, "Look son, some times mates don't work out and that is what the rejection system is for and she is probably scared out her wits." She then paused and grabbed my hand, "But everything in this world is a lot of bloody hard work so if you really think you can get her, then go for it but be prepared for the worst I'm sure she will come around."

With that little encouraging speech I was off. I squeezed my mother to death whispering "thank you" in her ear and I jumped out of bed got dressed then raced downstairs to got to school (which by the way I was like 4 hours late too). I was doing that half get changed half walk down the stairs at the same time thing when lord be hold the mini she devil appeared.

"OMG Eddie are you okay I just couldn't possibly go to school knowing you were knocked out cold I was so worried."

I had finally had enough I was about to say something I was going to regret when my mum walked in saving the day. "Lucy I think Ed needs some space please" my mum looked at giving me a reinsuring smile.

"Oh okay Luna I will see you later Eddie" as she walked away she gave me a quick wink and strutted back to the kitchen. I gave mum I quick look to say thank you and rushed off to school were I knew my mate would be waiting for me.
