Willow’s pov I woke up with a gasp and coughed hard. My body was drenched in cold sweat, my heart hammering against my ribcage. I blinked against the dim light, only to realize I was bound to a bedpost with heavy chains around my wrists. A tightness wrapped around my chest, and panic crawled its way up my spine. Where was I? The air was thick and unfamiliar with burning herbs and blood. This was not Verneville. This was not home. Then, the memories hit me, the screams, the blood, the invasion. My aunt disappearing. My kingdom, reduced to ash. My lips parted, trembling. “My home… it’s all gone,” I whispered. A scream tore from my throat. “Why?! Why did you keep me alive?! To torture me?!” My voice echoed through the cold stone walls, loud and wild, hoping someone, anyone, would hear. “You should’ve ended me with Verneville! You should’ve killed me!” The chains rattled as I thrashed, rage coursing through my veins, only to be met by the shocking realization that my powers were gone. I looked at my trembling hands. The usual warmth and the hum of magic beneath my skin was gone. I felt... cold, empty, and disconnected. “What have you done to me?!” I shrieked, my voice breaking. “Where are my powers?!” Tears poured down my cheeks, blurring my vision. My body jerked uncontrollably as I sobbed with each hitching breath, it was a painful reminder of my helplessness. “I’ll destroy all of you,” I hissed through gritted teeth. “I’ll kill every last one of you. I’ll step on your blood, wear your bones like armor. I’ll hang your heads in Verneville’s square. I shall kill all of you.” As I thrashed against the chains, the door creaked open, and a figure entered the room. My eyes narrowed, and I spat out the words, "You." My voice was venomous, filled with hatred and anger. The figure stepped closer, his eyes fixed on me with a mixture of curiosity and caution. It was him, the one that stared at me with those eyes, the one I dreamt of, the one who's been haunting me, the one who's been calling to me, but also the one who had destroyed my kingdom and brought me here. My heart seethed with hatred, and my mind raged with thoughts of revenge. I hissed, my voice barely above a whisper. "You're the one who destroyed my home and killed my people” My eyes blazed with fury, and my chains rattled as I strained against them. His expression was unreadable, but I saw a flicker of something in his eyes. Guilt, perhaps? Regret? It didn't matter. As he approached me, I felt a strange pull, a sense of familiarity that I couldn't quite place. There was something about him that drew me in, something that made my heart skip a beat. My mind reeled as I tried to process the turmoil i was in. What did it mean? Why did I dream about him? And why did I feel this pull towards him, this sense of connection? But I pushed those thoughts aside, refusing to let them distract me from my anger and my determination to escape. I would not be swayed by anything relating to this monster "I'll kill you," I spat, my voice full of venom. "I'll kill you and everyone else who had a hand in destroying my kingdom." My eyes blazed with fury, and my chains rattled as I strained against them. He just looked on at me like he was daring me. His eyes read a mixture of a warning and a threat but I would not be intimidated. "You'll pay for what you've done," I hissed, my voice barely above a whisper. "You'll pay dearly." But even my fury couldn’t hold me up. The dizziness returned. Dotted circles clouded my vision. As the dizziness washed over me, I felt my body weaken, my muscles trembling with exhaustion. But I refused to give in. I gritted my teeth, determination burning within me. "You'll pay for what you've done," I repeated, my voice weak but resolute. "I'll make sure you suffer for every moment of pain and suffering you've caused me." "I'll never forgive you," I spat, my voice venomous. "I'll never forget what you've done to me and my kingdom." His eyes locked onto mine, and for a moment, we just stared at each other. The air was thick with tension, and I could feel the weight of our confrontation bearing down on me. Then, without a word, he turned and walked away, leaving me bound and helpless. I watched him go, my heart seething with hatred. As the door closed behind him, I felt a wave of despair wash over me. I was trapped, bound and powerless. My head slumped against the cold, unforgiving wall. Darkness crept into the edges of my sight once more. Just before my eyes gave in, i saw a glimpse of his silhouette at the back of the door staring Then I slipped into unconsciousness Again.
