Chapter VIII – His one and His only.
Third Person's POV
'Mum! Oh my god! You should have been there! So many things happen! Like! Oh my god! Ahh!' Calum screamed.
'Okay okay I get it! Just please take a bath now cause you have somewhere else to go.' Joy said as she cooked some grilled cheese for breakfast.
'Where to again?' Calum wiggled his eyebrows.
'At the coffee shop to meet up with Luke.' Joy said confused. 'You hear that dad? I'm gonna go in a date with my dream boy Mr. Luke Hemmings.' Calum teased his father.
David can only shake his head.
After a solid 2 hours, Calum is done with his self. His outfit is not that much. Just simple as it can be. An oversized sweater, a pair of skin-tight jeans and an all-black high cut converse.
Soon, he arrived at the coffee shop and he's doubting whether to go in or not. But when he saw Luke wearing shades and looking around for him all the doubts went away and he pushed the door open.
He went to the table and stand before Luke. The boy was still looking from side to side, searching for him not knowing that he's right in front of him.
'Psst. Hey.' Calum whispered.
Luke looked up. The confusion in his face breaks as a big smile replaces the frown. 'Calum. Hey.' He said and stand up before hugging Calum who was very surprised by the action.
He just f*****g hugged Luke f*****g Hemmings and he is the one who initiates the hug.
'I ordered a chocolate cake, I hope you like that.' Luke scratched the back of his neck.
'I-its fine.' Calum said and sat down. There's a uncomfortable silence between the two of them. They're having a staring contest in their mind.
'Is it weird?'
'What's weird?'
'Talking to me.'
'Yes. It’s weird trying to make a conversation with Luke Hemmings.' Calum giggled.
'Well how about this. Erase it in your mind the I'm Luke. Think of me as Luke in your school who asked you out on a date.' Luke grinned.
'You didn't have to say that. Now the phrase 'Luke asked me out' is etched in my mind.' Calum laughed.
'Really? Well, why don't we finish our food and we can continue
'Cake, Calum + Lu- oh fuck.'
'What? Are you okay?'
'Did it ever cross your mind that cake is our ship name? Calum + Luke = Cake.' Calum grinned.
Luke stopped for a moment. His mind finally process what Calum is talking about and he flashed a grin.
'Good one babe.'
Calum blushed and took a bite of the cake. 'Why don't we finish our food so we can continue our date?'
'Stop calling it a 'date' when its not even a 'date'.' Calum rolled his eyes playfully.
A few minutes later, Luke ordered another slice of who knows what cake. 'Here, try this. I tried this before, it’s so good. You have to try it.' Luke said and Calum laughed.
He's not yet done with his cake so he set it aside. 'Why are you not trying it? It’s good I promise.' Luke said.
'I'm not y-'
'Here, just a bite. I swear you'll love it.' Luke cut Calum off by slicing a piece of cake and shove it on Calum's mouth.
Calum narrowed his eyes while chewing it. Luke is looking at him hopefully and he break into fit of laugh.
'It’s- it’s good.' Calum said. Can you imagine that. Luke Hemmings just fed you cake.
'See? Its good right? I told you.' Luke ranted.
Calum's phone rang and he saw it’s his mum. 'Uh, just my mum. Excuse me.' Calum said and text his mum back.
Luke nodded and take a bite of his cupcake. His phone rang seeing Michael texted him. What the f**k.
He opened it and just read it before putting it back. The table is pretty small.
It rang again so he was about to get it again when his hand landed on top of Calum's.
Calum's head snapped up. 'I-I'm sor-'. Calum said and was about to get his hand when Luke stopped it with his.
Luke hold his hand with his.
'L-luke.'
'Shh. Are you done texting your mum? Not yet? Finish it.' Luke said.
'I-I .. o-okay.'
They stayed like that for a few minutes until they finish eating. Calum is blushing a velvet color.
'We still have many things to do. Let's go?' Luke said.
'Where to?' Calum said as he looks at his hand that is still attached to Luke.
'It’s a secret. Now come on.' Luke said and pulled Calum up. They walked to Luke's car and he even opened the door for Calum.
They reached the mall and Luke pulled him to the movies. They didn't exactly watch the movie as they just played with popcorns and tickled each other.
They went to the arcade after watching a movie.
'Here's the deal, let's meet here in front of the arcade and whoever won the most prizes in 15 minutes will treat each other ice cream.' Luke grinned.
'Fine. Just because I will win.'
After 15 minutes, they met at the front, Calum having only 1 teddy bear from a claw machine and Luke almost a box of stuffed toys.
'How did you get that?!' Calum gasped. 'Arcade is my life babe.'
'Excuse me.' Luke called for a staff.
'Yes sir?'
'Can I just buy these toys?'
'Uhh.. I don't know sir but you can go at the cashier for prizes.'
'Oh right. Thanks.'
He went to the cashier and ask the same thing. In the end, they agree with a nod. But without having Luke taking a selfie with them.
'You know what? I'm joking about the ice cream. I'll treat you ice cream and this.' He said pointing at the toys. 'This are yours.'
'What? Here you go again.. I won't accept this.' Calum said.
'Nah. It’s yours. I don't have anything to do with this.' Luke said and pushed it towards Calum. Calum sighed and took the paper bag filled with toys.
'Wait I will buy something. I know there's a bargain shop around here.' Calum said and pulled Luke to a small shop.
'Choose. I'll buy you.' Calum said.
'Is it really okay? I mean I should be the one who should treat you.' Luke said
'Nah. Just choose one.'
Luke chose a necklace with a simple pendant that have a engraved text. His one.
Calum bought two and gave Luke the other one. 'Now we have a necklace.'
'Aww.. Cutie. Give me a hug.' Luke said and hugged Calum who hugged back.
