CHAPTER FIVE

Maggie and Fred had tried their best to cheer up Felix but nothing worked. Everything seemed to get worse. As days went by. His parents started fighting and his dad stopped coming home. Felix tried to cheer up for both him and his mom. He was scared he would break her. Every time she cried because of his dad, he would comfort her. Felix did not know this would go on for four years. His mom's condition did not get better and eventually his dad couldn't take it anymore. He leaves with his mistress, leaving Felix and his mom to fend for themselves. Felix tried his best to make an income that would support them both.''after all these years you say that to me now and im just supposed to accept it all?'' Felix could not believe what he was hearing from Chris right now all that heartache he put him through and all the years that have past while felix tried to get over him but miserably failed, Chris looked at him and told him that all he asked for was that felix thought it through.it was a Friday and felix had the entire weekend toil think about it as soon as he got home he took his mom ashes placed them on the bed and started talking to her,'' i don't know what to do mom i still love and he still makes my heartbeat like he always did but im scared mom,what if history repeats itself. then what, i don't think i could survive it if it happens again.''he got and went to take a shower and then got ready as the group was heading out for drinks tonight, Fred was finally gonna introduce his girlfriend of two years to everyone. once maggie got to felix's apartment she called to let him know and he went down, Maggie drove a Mercedes Benz g wagon and felix loved the car he gave it a pat before he got in the front seat and buckled up,as soon as he was seated Maggie asked him if he was okay and felix told her he was fine and turned on the music. Fred and his girlfriend were waiting for them and once they had settled down, Fred introduced his girlfriend Yolanda to them. Yolanda was beautiful. She had freckles and was tall with slim, beautiful long legs. Felix decided that he would push all of the thoughts that contained Chris into the back of his head. Today was about Fred and he was going to have a good time and nothing and no one was gonna ruin the night for him. As the hours went by and everyone seemed drunk. Yolanda told Felix that there was a guy that was staring at him. Felix looked at where Yolanda was looking at and the guy that was checking Felix out smiled and raised his glass to him. Felix nodded and raised his glass too. He looked at Yolanda and told her that he was not his type. Yolanda laughed and her laugh made Felix smile.'' If that's not your type, then what is your type?'' Yoland asked and Felix shrugged his shoulders. Yolanda looked him in the eye and told him'' if you're in love with someone you should tell that person love is a beautiful thing and, of course, it's not love without a little heartache. Trust me on this, you would be more miserable if you gave it up once you found it.''. Felix looked at Yolanda and before he could give her a response Maggie dragged him to the dance floor,'' come on dance with me.''. Two songs in, Felix felt his arms wrap around his waist and felt a breath around his neck before the guy could say anything. Felix turned around and moved out of his arms. It was the same guy that raised his glass to him a while ago. The guy put his hands up '' hey man, I didn't mean to scare you, Max by the way.'' he reached his hand out for Felix to take and Felix took his hand and gave him his name. Once they exchanged names, Felix felt comfortable enough to actually dance and talk to Max. When Felix got tired of dancing and asked if he could sit down and, Max led him to his seat, he asked him to sit next to him and Felix did. After a while into their conversation, Max pulled Felix's chair closer to him and was about to kiss him when someone grabbed his arm, almost making him fall. At that point, Felix was too drunk to fight this person. He felt weird. His body was heavy and almost numb. He tried to look at the guy that was holding him up but this made him feel sick. When Felix opened his eyes he was in a dimly lit room and he immediately started to panic but he heard Maggie's voice. Asked him if he was alright, Felix went to answer but felt sick and he asked for the bathroom. Maggie took him to the bathroom and kept patting his back as he threw up. She told him she would be right back and went to get Chris. Once Felix was done throwing up, Chris asked him from the doorway if he felt better. Felix only laughed as he thought he had heard wrong,'' I must be really drunk or have gone insane that I'm hearing his voice now.'' he tried to get up by himself but he had no strength in him. Chris walked over to Felix and helped him to his feet. He preceded to take his clothes off and told him to take a shower. Chris helped him take his shower and told him to get some sleep and that they would talk after Felix got some rest and felt much better. Chris left the room and went to tell Felix's friends that he was going to take care of Felix so they could all go home and get some rest.
