As soon as I got home, I was greeted by Gina.
She was holding a bunch of vitamin bottles and held up a tiny grey bag. As she realised as I was there, a big smile emerged on her face.
"These vitamins will help the growth of your baby. And this bag can hold all your documents for doctor's appointments." Gina gestured towards the items as she spoke about them.
A small smile crept up on my face. "Thank you,"
She handed me the items and gave me a small hug. "Your dad and I had a proper talk when you left. And we both agreed to give you two options for the raising of the baby," Gina started explaining – I looked confused. "Either we can use the guest room as a nursery, or we will help you get an apartment."
My mouth dropped in agape. Everything that's happened today has just been overwhelming me. It feels like everything's happening to fast.
Don't get me wrong; I'm super grateful. However, things are still pretty fresh. All I'm trying to do now is complete high school without thinking about it too much.
"Can we talk about this later?" I asked her after we broke away.
Gina smiled and nodded. Just like earlier with Alexander, it made me feel slightly guilty – all Gina was doing was trying to make this.. pregnancy easier for me.
With the stuff Gina provided for me, I trotted upstairs to my room and sat down at my desk. One in which I haven't had time to just sit down and think at recently.
**
The next day, as I woke up, I saw a figure sitting down at me desk, typing away on their phone. After rubbing my eyes to get a better view, I saw a very familiar mess of dirty-blonde hair, hair that belonged to none other than my boyfriend.
"What are you doing here, Alex?" I asked as I stretched.
His gaze lifted from his phone and transfered on to me. With a grin, he got up from his chair and briefly pecked me on the lips.
"Just here to see my girlfriend. Also, I'm taking you to school today." Alexander informed me, his greyish-greenish eyes staring at me intently.
I decided to get out of bed. Even if my pyjamas consisted of me just wearing a white oversized t-shirt with no leggings or anything like that, being ashamed of the lack of clothing I was wearing would be ridiculous.
Walking over to my closet, I started picking out what clothes I wanted to wear. Sparing a quick glance over my shoulder, I observed as Alex peered over at the vitamins on my desk.
"Did you always have vitamins?" He asked me.
I turned around slightly and shook my head. "No,"
Thankfully, he didn't ask further questions about it. Instead, he just got out his phone again and started typing.
However, I don't see why he would ask about them anyway; vitamins are like fruit.
Though, in that short space of time where Alexander seemed curious about it, I kind of felt like just telling him. Telling him about the baby I was going to push out in nine months – how he was going to be a father at seventeen.
But I didn't. Weighing this information on him before school and a week before senior year seemed like a bit of a stretch.
"Please don't tell me you're going to take forever." Alexander remarked as he witnessed me still looking for something to wear.
I wasn't this cautionary while looking for clothes on a daily basis. However, considering the fact I already look like I'm slightly bloated, I decided to go in the safe side and pick something loose around the stomach.
Picking something that looked like a decent outfit in an inconspicuous way took time.
I smiled at what Alex said. "I'm not promising anything."
"Great," he huffed. "I woke up early in the morning to do something incredibly cheesy for my girlfriend, and in return I get a late detention."
I let out a laugh, which was shortly lived. "Oh, stop whining like a baby."
I've already got one to do that.
I bit my tongue to restrain myself from letting that secret escape my lips. Alex didn't seem to notice, since he just grinned and went back to being occupied by his phone.
After spending what Alex referred to as eternity, I finally picked something to wear and got the rest of myself ready. He was relieved to see me finally dressed and prepared to leave, clearly bored of watching me stare at my closet.
As we came down the stairs, my dad watched us with caution.
"You must be the boyfriend. The young man I met a while ago. The one that—" My eyes widened as I realise he was about to reveal what I was hiding.
"Dad, we have to get to school. You two can officially meet later. Love you!" I called out as I dragged Alex away from the house in sheer desperation.
Alexander seemed amused by my action. But, he kept in whatever he was going to say to the moment he started driving towards school.
"Now I'm curious as to why you don't want me to meet your dad." He smirked wildly, the expression lighting up his face.
Rolling my eyes in a playful manner, I stared out of the window. "You'll meet him... after I meet yours."
I wasn't being literal. I don't think Alexander's parents would like me much after they find out I'm the reason they get to be grandparents early. Or not, considering the fact Alexander has not only one, but two older brothers.
"Sure. Because, unlike you, I have no problem with you meeting my parents." He shot me a look through the rear-view mirror.
I scoffed. "That could be because I'm the definition of perfect and you're the literal meaning of imperfect."
My 'insult' was only something to accumulate the banter currently occurring between us. Luckily, Alex seemed to noticed my obvious playfulness, and not think I fell back into old habits and tried to properly insult him.
"Well, people do say opposites attract," Alex shrugged.
Alexander and I exchanged a brief glance at each other – short, as his eyes were supposed to remain on the road, as I kept reminding him – before my sight returned back to the scenery outside the window.
Suddenly, I felt a surge of sickness go through me, causing a gag to escape my throat. Alex looked alarmed, but for the sake of our lives he didn't turn his head to peer over at me.
"Are you OK? Do you want me to slow down?" Alex asked me, despite the fact he wasn't driving that fast in the first place.
I shook my head. "No, it's fine. But I'll roll down the window."
So I did – it made me feel slightly better.
I started thinking about how I could tell Alexander; it had to be done eventually. The main idea I had of revealing this news to him was by putting pictures of the baby in an envelope and asking him to open it. However, that method meant I had to go to the doctor without Alex, and I don't think I would be able to do that.
Another idea I had was reading a pregnancy book in front of him, and if he questioned me, I would claim it would be useful for a parent expecting, before handing him a copy.
Though, I felt like both ways seemed pretty weird, and definitely not the way I was planning to tell Alexander. So, instead, I decided on when I would tell him.
Even that was uncertain, though.
"Are you feeling better now?" He asked, the feeling of worry lacing his speech.
I nodded. "Yeah, I feel bet—"
Another gag came.
Perfect timing. Why don't you go ahead and just be sick all over his car as well? Or, better yet, tell him now?
"Kelsie, if you want, we can get out the car." The car halted as we reached a red traffic light.
The sound of clicking filled the car as none of us spoke; the noise belonging to the indication Alex was turning left.
"It's fine, Alex. Really. I'm just feeling a little car-sick." I explained, letting my hands rest on my thighs.
"You don't usually," his eyebrows furrowed.
I smiled. "I usually don't date guys who I claim I would hate forever, yet here we are."
Alexander chuckled. "You make a fair point, Kelsie Marie Fray."
As Alex pulled into the parking lot of the school, I saw Daisy waiting for me at the entrance. Getting out of the car, I started walking towards her, with Alexander trailing shortly behind me.
"There you are! I had to endure the pain of Tyler's friends staring at me awkwardly – I almost wanted to be swallowed up by a massive hole." Daisy exclaimed, throwing her hands up in exaggeration.
On the other hand, I threw my hands up in surrender and smiled. "Sorry."
Giggling, Daisy hooped her arm around mine. She turned around, smiling at Alexander.
"Sorry. But I am taking away your girlfriend's attention." She told him.
I spotted Andy and Zayn sitting on one of the benches – Zayn was once again listening to music through his headphones, meanwhile Andy was peering down at his phone, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Your friends are there. We can catch up later." I informed him, before being dragged away by Daisy.
Alex gave me a quick wink from afar, before walking to them.
Though, I couldn't help but think about the one thing we had to 'catch up' on.
