I stepped back in panic and almost tripped. I threw my bag on the bed and flinched when Liam slammed the door closed, and I saw his dark face when I turned to look at him.
"I was not planning to escape; I was just checking if you had left." I lied and hid my fear. My knees were shaking, but I maintained eye contact with him.
"What? I haven't said anything; why do you sound so guilty?" He snapped at me, and I took another step back.
"If I escape, where will I go? I don't even have money. That's why I called you, remember?"
Do I sound guilty?
I wish he wouldn't check his wallet right now because I'm dead the moment he did.
Liam breathed in, and it was obvious that he was holding it in. "Take off your clothes and get inside the bathroom!"
