"Don't!" I stopped Liam when I saw that he was about to hold my hand. I also took a step back to distance myself from him and stood next to Nath.
We are going back home now, and we will not spend the night here because Liam didn't want to inconvenience himself for work tomorrow. Before leaving, we said our goodbyes to his grandparents, who looked sad but happy at the same time.
It's only been a day, and I feel like I will miss this place. I grew up here as well. That is how welcomed I felt by the lovely elderly couple, and I hope we can visit them again someday. Maybe because a part of me sympathizes with Grandma Marie, who looked excited to talk to someone. It's really unfortunate that they only had one child, and that child only had a child as well.
