Shock and disappointment were evident on Liam's face when he heard what I said. He looked deeply into my eyes with his jaws locked as if he wanted to eat me alive.
I crossed my fingers behind my back, hoping he'd buy my excuse. I hope he won't ask for evidence, or else I won't get away from it.
I hid my nervousness and scoffed at him. "What? You don't believe me? Do you want to see the evidence?" I challenged him so he'd think that I was serious.
