The office was quiet for once. Most of the staff had left for the evening, leaving only the soft hum of computers and the occasional ringing phone. I sat at my desk, Mira beside me, reviewing the final report for the week. It felt surreal, this calm after weeks of tension, gossip, and stolen glances.

“You’ve been so focused lately,” I said, glancing at her. “I almost forgot how beautiful you are when you’re serious.”

She rolled her eyes, laughing softly. “Careful. You might get distracted too much by me and forget your CEO duties.”

I leaned closer, lowering my voice. “Maybe that’s the point.”

She giggled, brushing her hair behind her ear. The soft sound filled the office, warm and grounding. I reached across the desk, covering her hand with mine. Our fingers entwined naturally, comfortably, as if they had always belonged together.

“Do you ever think about what comes next?” she asked quietly, eyes searching mine.

“All the time,” I admitted. “I’ve been thinking… if we’re going to do this—really do this—we should be honest with everyone. No secrets, no hiding.”

Her gaze softened, lips curving into a small, approving smile. “I like that. Honesty… and love, I hope.”

I brushed my thumb across her knuckles, feeling the warmth that made every decision worth it. “Love, always.”

The city lights reflected in the glass walls, illuminating the path ahead. For the first time, the office didn’t feel like a place of tension and rules—it felt like a home, a place where our hearts could grow freely.

As we packed up to leave, I stopped her at the elevator. “Mira, one more thing,” I said, voice earnest. “No matter what challenges come, no matter what the city throws at us… I want to face it all with you.”

Her hand on my chest, heart racing, she nodded. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The elevator doors closed, and we stepped out into the streets, the city alive with lights and movement around us. But nothing mattered more than this moment—the moment we chose each other, without hesitation, without fear.

Under the stars and neon glow, our love solidified. It was no longer about stolen glances or secret notes. It was about commitment, trust, and the courage to take the next step—together.
