Chapter 10: Que Sera, Sera
Alone in his office Philip contemplated the signs: First, Jonathan, then Jim, now Joshua. What was it about the J's? He knew people who named their kids starting with the same letter: Lily, Leonard, Liam, even their animals sported similar handles. Dogs and cats named Maisie, Maddie, Millie, and on and on in the same family, in the same fashion. He always thought it such a silly and unoriginal practice, yet here he was, living proof that it could happen, less by plan or intention than by random occurrence. He and Jonathan became friends due to a chance meeting in a local gay bar. He met Jim at the college focus group and now Joshua in an atmosphere surrounded by sea creatures.
