CHAPTER THREE: MEETING STORM

1342 Words
~NATALIE’S POV~ The whole living room seems like it is in a stand still as I stare at the burly man that joins us in the room, and I feel my breathing seize as I take in what I have come to know as the most handsome man alive. His shirt hugs his body, making it very difficult to conceal his muscular chest and biceps. Oh my goddess, what kind of creation did you cheat on us with? How could she have focused so much on just one person? When my eyes trail up to his head, and I am observing the way his hair arrogantly stays sleek on his head when I notice him smirk. Great! He caught me drooling. I see two of his men approach me, and that is when my mind races back to the matter at hand. Why are they approaching me? My body reacts immediately, and I run to stay close to my father “Father, what is going on?” I ask hurriedly, panic evident in my voice. My father clears his throat nervously, making my heart skip a beat “Natalie… this is —” “There will be no need for introductions, I am your father’s creditor. Which means, your father owes me a lot of money which is due to be paid.” The man interrupts, making himself comfortable on one of the seats in the living room. His cold tone sends shivers through my body. I do not like where this talk is heading. I breathe in and out to steady myself “How much does my father owe you?” I ask, hoping it is an amount that I can be able to pay. The man chuckles lowly, then he stretches out an amused smile “Even as an Alpha, he was unable to pay. Do you really think it is a price that is easy to settle?” he taunts, maintaining an arrogant demeanor. My teeth grinds against each other “How much?” I spit out. He leans forward, “Fifty million dollars.” I stagger as the word flows out of his mouth like a lullaby putting one to sleep “What?” I gasp. Not a second later, he stands to his feet and lets out a heavy breath “I take it that you don’t have such an amount then. Take her away.” He orders, and walks out of the front door as arrogantly as he stepped in. My body starts to quake when I see the two men from before approaching me again “No!” I scream, holding on to my father “Don’t let them take me away, please.” I plead desperately. “Forgive me, Natalie.” My father says as he pushes my body towards the men, handing me over to them without any fuss. Not even a plea for mercy, nothing. I struggle as a sob escape my mouth, hoping he will intervene, but I receive the greatest shock of my life as I watch my father stand up from the seat and enter his room. What the hell? Did he just give me up like that? For the second time today, I can feel my life fade away like a frail candle light. -- My bare feets rub on the cold tiled floor as they pull me out from a room they put me in after dragging me out from my home. “Where are you taking me?” I ask, feeling my heart beat accelerate. No reply comes my way. Just as I opened my mouth to ask again, one of the men pushes a door open and leads me into an office “Alpha Storm, she is here.” He reports. Alpha Storm? My body goes numb as the name registers in my head. I raise my head to look at who the man just greeted, and my mouth falls open in disbelief. To my greatest surprise, it is the same man that made them drag me out from my home. “You… you are the Alpha King, Storm Draco?” I stammer. I have heard rumors or rather stories of the ferocious Alpha Storm of the Greek moon pack. How he kills without mercy, drinks the blood of the weaklings in packs that he overthrows, and r***s women. Never in my life did I ever think I will meet him, talk more of actually being at his mercy. What does he want from me? Alpha Storms swivels his chair as he stretches out an amused smile, probably entertained by the horror painted on my face. He arches a brow, “Are you scared just by hearing my name? I wouldn’t be surprised though. Good things, I suppose?” he chuckles. “Why… why did you bring me here?” I gulp. His face molds with indifference as his cold voice rings out, “To pay back what your father owes, and before you ask any peskier questions which I will obviously hate to answer. Yes, you were used as collateral.” He stands up before I can even say anything or react. “Be good, tonight.” He pet my hair, then walks towards the door “Let the maids get her ready.” He orders before shutting the door. My heart tightens. Get me ready for what? -- Standing in the middle of a narrow corridor, a cold shiver runs through my body, creating goose bumps on my skin and reminding me of the skimpy red dress I have on that barely even covers my body. The noise coming from behind the walls makes me wonder where exactly I am. All I can hear are echoes and slams, like a hammer. What exactly is going on behind the walls? A woman walks up to me “When you hear your number, you walk out to the stage through that door. Do not try anything stupid like being disobedient because if you get Alpha Storm angry, even the moon goddess can’t save you.” She passes me a gold tag and walks away before I can even ask anything. I stare at the tag in a daze “1,” I whisper out as I trail my thumb over it. What does the number stand for? Did that man bring me for some kind of contest? My legs are getting tired, so I decide to sit on the floor as I start to think of different talents I can act on when I reach the stage. “Number 1, do come up to the stage,” I hear an announcement for the first time since standing here. I look at my tag to confirm the number, and indeed it is mine. Taking a deep breath, I brace myself and start walking towards the door that will lead to the stage just as the woman from earlier instructed me. Holding my breath, I decide to push the door open, and the scene that greets me makes my head spin. The crowd is rich and everyone seated seems like they have being waiting for my arrival because all their gazes are on me. “Stunning!” the host remarks as his eyes trail down my body causing me to be very self-aware. I gulp as my eyes travels down to my feet. Goddess knows that I have a very huge stage fright. How am I going to sing in front of this crowd? “Come forward,” the hosts voice rings out again, reminding me of my stagnant position. I suck in my lower lip to try and hide my nervousness as I take slow uncertain steps towards the host in the middle of the stage. “Brilliant, and as you can see what a beauty our first item is just like I had said earlier. The starting price is one million dollars.” The host declares. I snap my head towards the host as soon as I understood his words “What?” I shudder.
