A Summer in Rome

Chapter 7

Juan's phone was ringing but he didn't answer. Myra started getting nervous and threatening Juan in her own way.

Then  he answered.

"Hello Myra what can I do for you?"

" The couple in room 203 need your attention if you are not so busy".

"Great, I've just finished what I'm doing and am on my way".

"So quickly? If it had been me you would have given all sorts of excuse".

"That's because your need is not medical but sexual."

"Juan you are going to pay dearly for playing around with me like that!" She said almost yelling.

"The couple in room 203 need a real doctor, and not the one you need".

"Yeah, wait till you get in there if Mrs. Avery will let you out."

"Well if she doesn't let me out, it means she will let me in somewhere. It might be nice going in somewhere".

"Juan I take it you are joking with me. You think this will end just like that?"

"Well however it ends I will fill you in with the details. Perhaps the more intimate details. Wouldn't that be nice?."

Myra was really angry at how Juan was playing around with her.

"Juan you are the worst thing that can happen to me right now and if I catch you, you will regret every word you just said."

Without waiting for a response from Juan she dropped the phone and headed straight for the staff room.

Myra was in the staff room when Juan came in. He saw her going in but never bothered to disturb her.

He decided to go up and see Mrs. Avery. As he went up to the second floor and rang the bell, Mrs Avery opened surprised at how fast he had come.

"I wasn't expecting you so soon and besides I was still in bed".

"Never mind then Mrs. Avery, let me know when I should come so I don't disturb your rest."

"Its alright, come in" she said turning and walking away from the door leaving Juan to close the door as he entered.

Juan looked at Brenda and immediately, thoughts of their previous encounter flashed through his mind.

He couldn't take his eyes off her as he looked at her in her bathrobe. She was beautiful and he knew she was naked inside the bathrobe.

He walked straight up to her and held both her hands.

"You are so beautiful Mrs. Avery."

"I take it you didn't just come to complement me on my beauty am I right?"

" No but it is what caught my attention first. Please forgive my attention towards your beauty"

"Juan I must admit I like your boldness. Your manliness towards me moves me. True I like it".

"I think I know what you mean,Brenda."

Juan pulled Brenda close to him and let go of her hands. His hands went straight for the rope used to tie the bathrobe around her waist.

He untied the rope and opened the bathrobe and saw Brenda's naked body. He looked at her and she looked back at him.

They hugged each other and started kissing. The bathrobe came off of Brenda as they kissed.

She was standing all naked held only by Juan's arms around her. They kissed for a few minutes before stopping.

Brenda put back her bathrobe on and they went to sit down on the sofa.

Juan took hold of her pulse and looked at his watch...Brenda looked at him and gave out a smile which made Juan smile back.

"How do you feel Brenda?"

"I am quite relaxed, if that is what you mean".

Juan sat very close to her and then put his left arm around her shoulders. He kissed her on her forehead.

She placed her head on his shoulder giving him a kiss on his neck.

"And how do you feel now, Brenda?"

"I feel like I have found something I lost"

"Like the warmth, the love and the friendship you are experiencing right now?"

"I guess its more than that, but I can't describe the feeling. Its so natural."

"Yeah, I get it. You were wishing it was your husband right?"

"I guess in life you can't have everything you want." She said looking at Juan

"Maybe and maybe not. It really depends."

"It depends on what?"

"Well think of it this way, right now you feel relaxed you can lose yourself,with him you respect yourself thereby withholding your feelings".

"You think it works that way?"

"Well with me its temporary. There are no serious commitments and of course the excitement is there even though its a risk"

"I am taking a risk Juan, that can end my marriage if we get caught. But I love it. I love the experience as long as it lasts."

"Brenda I'm also taking a risk by indulging with my patient. And if I get caught. That's a suspension coming, but it's the best feeling I'm getting from a very special patient".

They both looked at each other and laughed and started kissing again. Brenda closed her eyes and held onto Juan.

She had never felt so good in her life like she was feeling right now with Juan and it surprised her so much.

She now found a good reason to want to divorce from Francis; Juan had given her that reason. She wasn't in love with Francis, she was in love with Juan.

After a few more kisses and hugs, Juan got up to leave and Brenda accompanied him to the door. They gave each other one last kiss and then Juan left.

When he got to the reception he found Myra with a beer in her hand gulping it down so fast she didn't see him coming.

He held out his hands to take the beer. As she saw his hands coming, Myra quickly dropped the beer under the counter and wiped her mouth.

Juan looked at her without saying a word. Myra felt a little embarrassed.

"I felt a little thirsty and needed something to drink" she managed to say.

"Myra are you alright?" Juan asked her still staring at her.

"Juan I don't think I am sick. If and when I am sick and I need a doctor ,I'll find one that is suitable for me."

Juan looked at her and laughed. He couldn't control himself and kept on laughing. This infuriated Myra  so much that she took the remaining beer and gulped it down.

"I may need a doctor myself if you continue to make me laugh Myra," Juan said still laughing.

" Well it seems the only doctor you'll need might be the woman in room 203".

"Mrs. Avery you mean? That would be a very special doctor! Very special indeed". Juan kept on laughing. Myra just looked at him while he laughed.

"So you're going to see her or not?" Myra asked Juan

"I don't think its a good idea don't you think so?"

"Why ask me if it's a good idea? She asked for you not me. She said she wanted to apologize for sending you out the last time." Myra replied back a bit confused and a bit tense.

"Okay let her know I accept her apologies and will visit her when I come back."

"Juan I'm not some errand girl that you put here to do your bidding".

"Just do what I say and maybe I'll visit you instead".

Juan was already out and didn't wait to hear  what Myra would have said.

Myra got very disturbed by Juan's behaviour but at the same decided to call Mrs. Avery.

"Hello Mrs. Avery", Myra started, "I just spoke with Juan and he says to tell you he will see you later and also added that he accepts your apology"

"Oh Juan? Never mind in fact I don't intend to apologize anymore".

"Why not, Mrs Avery, didn't you say you wanted to apologize?"

"I did but you know how men are. You can't tell them deeply how you feel about them in a sincere way"

"Oh It mustn't be easy letting out your feelings if they are real" Myra said curious to hear more from Mrs Avery.

"We are women and our feelings if they are real, they don't lie. It's something bigger than us"

"It must be disappointing feeling one thing for one person while you are beside another person".

"Unfortunately Myra, you just have to live with it or do something about it."

"Mrs. Avery If I my ask, are you planning on leaving Mr. Avery?"

"For who, for Juan?" Replied Mrs Avery.

"It's a possibility, I mean if it's true love that you have for Juan assuming it to be so".

There was some silence coming from Brenda. Then she gave out a small laugh.

"Myra though I might feel something for Juan I'm not sure about his feelings".

"Okay...I don't know how to help you with this" replied Myra.

"Myra I expect discretion on this issue. I felt good for the first time in my life with another man,when we made out with each other. It was beautiful. It felt really good"

Myra felt dead on hearing Brenda telling her she had slept with Juan. So why didn't Juan ever tell her? How did it happen? When did it happen?

Now she had enough reasons to get even with Juan.

"Mrs. Avery I am happy knowing you felt good. Like I told you before,Juan could handle your case professionally."

"I was impressed by his manliness. It really moved me. Even talking to you about him it's like I feel him."

Myra was boiling but managed to control herself. Here she was deeply thinking of Juan and unknown to her Juan had already had s*x with Mrs Avery.

"I'm happy you've found a man in him."

"Okay Myra talk to you later and let me know when Juan is available. I'm beginning to miss him."

Brenda hang up leaving Myra so infuriated she banged her phone down. At last she now knew why Juan was avoiding her.

He had finally slept with Mrs. Avery unknown to her. But where and why wasn't she aware? She kept rolling these questions through her mind. And she was poised to find out, so she decided to call Juan himself to know the truth directly from him.
