A Covenant

-Chapter 10-

-Nocte-

Nocte watches as the man runs for his life, he turns his head back to the camp and sees that some knights are crawling away while blood oozes out from their bodies. He smiled “I guess my test was a success, I can hyper focus while in battle and do much better. Though the next step would be to see if I can somehow use my real power without destroying my body.” and then he said “ I wonder...is it possible for me to..puppet?” He began to walk to one of the knights that was crawling away and walked past the ones in pure agony and seen one who was crawling away stepping on his back pressing his foot against the armor of the knight.

Grabbing the back of his neck and he closed his eyes and muttered "Puppeteer". Then opened them and picked himself up “It worked…” he looked at the knights arms and hands, though the body still had it's wounds he knew the person was more or less dead at least he hoped that. The pained screams did not stop though, He drew his sword and walked along the wounded slowly stabbing each and everyone. Some begged for death others pleaded for mercy or for their lives. Nocte gave mercy in death, for he knew they would go to a better place of his creation but...he couldn't help but feel every loss of life he took was most likely a father not going back home. A son not returning to his mother, A Husband..... At the last person still alive, he was leaning against a pole, his back against it and his hand over his stomach as Nocte saw a sword s***h and he knew this was one of the survivors of the tent. He had failed to kill him then, but now he sat there looking at him without even saying a word just his eyes staring into his. Nocte got on one knee and placed a hand on his shoulder “You are the bravest I have seen….in all my years, I promise you will see a greater world beyond this one of my creation. So I release you in death.” he stabbed him in the chest with his sword and the knight grit his teeth but Nocte saw blood come from under his helmet. The knight kept his discipline and continued staring at him until his head finally lowered and his arm fell limp and his last breath left his body.

Nocte lowered his head and he felt a tear go down his cheek but he stood up and bowed his head for a few seconds then walked away. As soon as he got out of the camp he used a portal to appear in front of the Bestia Confederation army and Annah was shocked when a Knight stepped through she quickly drew her sword but Nocte said “No need to be alarmed, Let me just hnggghhh.” he grunted as he pulled himself away from the knights body as a black fog and kicked it away. It fell on the floor limply like a doll with its strings cut, his body reforming and regaining its color within moments. Annah looked at him shocked and she opened her mouth but Nocte spoke first “Yes, It is done. The army won't pursue us, You will hear reports of what happened I'm sure of it” She looked at him blankly but then asked “How many lived?” Nocte answered simply “Perhaps….four thousand, Maybe less or more. Though they won't be coming for us anytime soon.”

Annah nodded and began to walk again and Nocte fell in line beside her, His robe tried to open as the wind came but he closed it purposefully, knowing full well that he was playing a game of psychological warfare using the fear of the unknown and the knowledge of his pure brutality to the kingdoms army to his advantage. Though the walking took time no one in the army spoke until finally part of the army split and began walking West and Annah said “Don't worry we are closing in on the Capital so one of the Major Legion Commanders is taking his part of the army back to their positions.” Nocte then asks “How is the military split?” Annah thinks for a second and says “We'll Army groups be recruited in the term of Chapters one then to two, three and so on or they will be given names like the Martial Chapter. In one chapter there are ten thousand men in one legion there is at least one thousand men led most of the time by a Legion Commander. Those Legion commanders are led by a Major Legion Commander which will lead them. Does that make sense?”

Nocte nods his head and asks “Then where is the Legion Commander?” She points to the part of the army that split off from the pain group and says “He's over there, He's my second in most situations he has over a hundred years under his belt in experience and is still quite a young looking man.” Nocte does not respond and just says “So our covenant is formed?” Annah looks at him confused but keeping her pace “Covenant?” Nocte sighs “A Formation of a deal and agreement to put it simply.” Her eyes widen and she looks down as her ears droop, scratching one she then says “Oh...yea, Our Covenant is formed.”

Very quickly though she recovers and begins talking about her family, how her younger sister is always trying to get closer to her and trying to outdo her second even though she is so young. Nocte just listens and nods a long a bit not interrupting as she makes a good story teller, Then her topic changes to her father and how he's been very sickly lately unlike his youth were he led a crusade to unite the Demi-Humans under a confederation most accepted but some refused and it ended up in full scale war. She goes on to explain some of the battles and even how one battle was so brutal that it lasted for days and thousands dying in mear hours was normal and only ten thousand out of the one hundred thousand on the Confederations side and on the other only five thousand out of the two hundred and fifty thousand made it out alive by surrendering.

She called the battles nothing more than “Slaughters” and “Not honorable in any way” she explained how her father used to use a great sword that was made out of a black metal and was extremely heavy but sharp and could cut through forests as if it was nothing. Nocte nodded and asked “Just how big is this sword?” she looks down and says “We'll...it's bigger than me, i'm at least six foot five inches tall and that sword maybe...is'' she put her hand a bit further above her head “About this tall...six seven maybe?” Nocte nods and says “Such a sword would be dangerous if it could be moved with the pace of a normal sword.” Annah Nods and says “My father used to be able to throw the sword like a spear, As he aged though he couldn't do it anymore and slowly….I became sixteen and I took his place as the Alpha and that was...two years? No one year and three months.”

Nocte looks at her and asks “You're sixteen?” she nods and says “Yea, Though my mother yells at me to find a male to mate with though I refuse most of the time, Sometimes I just say i'm waiting to find one that suits me or just is less dominant then I can be some times.” Nocte stares at her for a moment and asks “You imply this in the terms of...you want your mate to be submissive?” Annah nods simply her tail flicking and Nocte sees her tail has a white tip and the rest is a blueish black like the rest of her tail and her waist has a mini skirt on it that looks more like Saara’s and then Nocte looks ahead and says “We'll you won't find a demi-human like that, If anything you will have to try and get a human. Demi-Humans were created to be more…..aggressive and dominant, not submissive like some humans can be. Most of the time the ones that have less emotions are the ones that have the softest inside if you...understand?”

Annah glances and grins but does not respond and says “Look ahead...we are almost there. By the time we get there it will be night, I will have a mage get you a room ready.” She calls a mage over and he flies over and heads Annah’s command to go forward and prepare Nocte a room in the Martial Mansion, He nods and flies ahead toward the capital of the Bestian Confederation. It's walls standing high even for the tallest buildings in his “Home World” and even the walls of China seem to pale in comparison to the great craftsmanship that can be seen far away, Great engravings of dates, images and even leaders that seem to span the whole wall.
