Chapter 12 --/-- As the Commandant walked upon the city in the morning, the dew in the air turned and tasted like iron. The smell was horrible yet the men behind him didn't seem to flinch at the sight before them, men,women and even children were strung onto the walls and along the ground. The gate had been smashed through, the iron was bent and some of it was clearly hammered in by something akin to a warhammer. Glancing behind him he saw his three hundred men looking forward, their chests puffed and heads held high.
