The theatre was empty when we arrived. It was lit up, but there was no activity. The ragbag collection of lean-tos, tepees and tents were all in one piece. I was angry that nothing had been done in our absence. Being tired and hungry from all the exercise didn"t help my mood. “Where is everyone?” I said aloud, standing in the pit. Ikud shrugged and Davey looked blank. I thought I could hear some sound, perhaps from under the stage. I remembered the shrine. I crossed the floor and jumped up onto the stage hoping to make a loud thud on the ceiling of the space down below. Running to the back of the stage, I ripped open the door and clattered down the wooden steps to the darkness below.
