Wasn"t Christ also a Son of God? Were these Son"s of God simply God"s first recruits and their offspring where simply mighty men, heroes; perhaps God"s original favoured tribe. Later the victorious Israelites attempted to gloss over not only their usurpation of land in Canaan, but of "favoured tribe" status. Is Jesus" claim in this context simply another of his attempts to align his cause with that of prophecy and justify his course of action? Or maybe his actions were actually the last time the rebel Watchers let themselves be known in public – some of them lived on or escaped punishment.
