Kat was shaken, gently. “Excuse me. Miss? Are you OK?” A woman with friendly eyes squatted down in front of her. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to fall asleep.” Kat felt stiff. “I didn’t know where to go.” How long had she slept for? Some of the candles had gone out, some looked fresh, their wax cones unmelted. “Can I get you a coffee and you can tell me about it?” The lady had an air around her, not just the delicate aura of incense, but like Danton there was a presence, a projection of her personality into her surroundings.
