"Why the hell did you run her over?!"

A massive force slammed into me and sent me flying backward.

"Selena, have you completely lost your mind?!"

Ethan and Andrew stepped in front of Vanessa, shielding her from me.

They just stood there and watched me tumble all the way down the long flight of stairs.

Every bone in my body felt like it had shattered into a thousand pieces.

And there Vanessa hid behind them, peeking out to glare at me with the smug smirk of a winner.

I was just about to shove past the pain and charge at her again when Ethan's voice—soft, silky, and ice-cold—blasted right in my ears.

"You're going to publicly clear this up right now. You'll say your mother started it, and Vanessa was just acting in self-defense. If you don't...your mother will bear the consequences herself."
