Flyby

Psyche looked at the dragon, who had the expression of a driver on an open highway: relaxed, laidback, and just enjoying the ride. Psyche: Hey. Dragon: Yeah? Psyche: So, what's you're name? B looks behind and smiles, showing the lines on her facial scales and a twinkle in her eye. B: My name's Beatrice, but you can just call me B. And don't worry, I know your name Psyche. Psyche: Oh. Okay. So...how long does it take to get to Pantheo High? B: Not long. I'd suggest you relax. Psyche: Yeah, relax. Thousands of feet in the air, on the back of a dragon, with no parachute, no flight powers, and no wings. Yeah. relax sounds good. B chuckles a bit as the sun shone brightly on them and the clouds below, making them look like giant white cotton balls. B: Calm down. I'm trained for this. Besides, we're on time. No air traffic, no reckless flyers, and it's an open area. Just lay down and enjoy the view. Unless you got a fear of heights, then just don't look down. Psyche then laid down on her stomach, atop the dragon's back, and enjoys the view in front of her: a vast, fluffy white ocean that is the clouds, and the light blue dome above that is the sky. The sun shone on them with its warm glare, but its heat was countered by the cool breeze that flowed by them as they flew onward. B then descended slowly, allowing Psyche to see the land below: a seemingly endless dirt road, snaking through a wild forest. The forest was littered with big burrows in the ground that was under trees, on the slopes of small hills, and sometimes just in the middle of plain land. From the burrows, were what looked like a bunch of tiny dots running around the forest and into one burrow, then out of another, in her point of view. Psyche grabbed her camera on her shoulder and focused to take a closer look at the running dots:  They were brown, sleek-looking ATVs, decked out with a pair of large round headlights on the front, a curved roof supported by four black metal bars. The tires were big, spiked, and chunky, like monster trucks, and the ATVs only had two seats, both made of sleek black leather with a racer frame type. On the left side was the driver's seat, where the thin black leather steering wheel was, and on the right is the shotgun seat. The drivers and their passengers were more interesting: Judging by their size, they were at most 5 feet flat. All of them had a chubby, but muscular build, which went nicely with their checkered long sleeves and blue denim overalls, but on top of that, they had what appears to be armor strapped on top of their clothing. It would range from metal shoulder plates, bone plated arm braces to even bejeweled chest guards. Each of them had the engraved insignias of wolves, dragons, and on one of them, a mermaid. They had squarish faces, with really defined jawlines, pointed noses, and elvish ears. Their expressions were slightly hidden from the long fuzzy beards they had, which made them look like they were always grumpy, or constipated. Their heads were protected by metal hard hats, with weird gadgets attached to them: tiny satellite dishes, flip-on magnifying glasses, and even charging ports for their phones. As Psyche saw them zipping around the forest, jumping into one burrow and shooting out another, it seems like they were just having fun, racing around and jumping in and out of the burrows like a loopy Mario Kart. B turned her head to see Psyche enjoying the little race. B: They're dwarves. Dark elves in Norse. When they're not building weapons or designing the next smartphone, they would go here to play, gather materials for their new projects, sometimes have feud races. Psyche scrunched her eyebrows in confusion. Psyche: Feud races? B nodded in agreement. B: Mhm. Different dwarven families don't really get along. Sometimes it's a thing that happened way back when. Sometimes it can just happen from someone moving on their girl, or guy. Psyche zoomed-in her camera and took pictures of the races. The shots she took looked like they could be the next cover of Mario Kart. But then a fast shadow passes overhead, catching Psyche's attention. She looks up to see three others speed by in a blur of black. She turns her head to the left and sees a group of four other flying creatures, soaring high into the sky, before divebombing right in front of B, causing her to reel back.  Psyche: Woah, WOAH!! Psyche flails her arms out as she loses her balance and falls screaming. But not long before B's tail wraps around her waist, earning a grunt from Psyche. She then screams as B whips her upward, making Psyche land on her shoulders. Psyche: Hey! What was that- As if on cue, the four flying creatures emerge from below and surround them, baring their beaks and cawing. Psyche: I'm gonna shut up now.
