Chapter 26: ConfessionsWhen I woke the following morning, I was encircled in Lucas's arms, my leg slung across his thigh, my head resting on his chest. I lifted my head to look at him, startled to discover his eyes were closed. He looked peaceful and relaxed, his chest rising and falling and I shook him a little. “You aren't actually asleep, are you?”
He opened his eyes and they twinkled in amusement. “No. A lot of things have changed, but I'm still vampire. I don't sleep.” He smiled softly. “I was merely enjoying the memories of making love with you last night.” He drew himself up in the bed, lifting me tenderly into his lap and drew the covers over both of us. “How do you feel?”
