Be Mine.

..it happened so suddenly

I rush out of the hospital and to the car garage elevator.

“Oh rose, you’re going crazy. Pull it together.”

I look at my reflection in the stainless still of the elevator, “ding, ding”

Hearing the elevator remind me to select the floor i need. I select floor 1 and wait for the elevator doors to close, when suddenly- a hand parts the doors open.

The tall man I saw from my mother’s room, it’s him. My throat turns dry, and I clutch my book bag straps.

The doors fully open, and he walks through.

He looks at me, his eyes dart to my lips. I try to say something, I try to move, but my body isn’t listening.

“Do you mind selecting the ground floor since you’re in front of the buttons and won’t move”

His voice is so deep, and almost like a whisper. His face is stern, but his eyes are bright, I can’t help but want to stare at them.

I shudder, “I’m sorry” I say in a whisper.

I select the G button and we make our descent from floor 10.

He stands behind me and rest his head on the elevator’s glass window.

The heat his body gives off, warms my body and I can’t believe I’m saying this but I can feel my tense muscles relax a little and I feel like I could fall asleep at any moment

That’s when I hear it.. he says my name. I know he did, but who is he? How does he know me?

Instincts tell me to keep looking forward.

“Ding” whew, my floor. I go to take a step out when I’m suddenly grabbed back, and locked in a bear hug.
