**Evelina’s POV**
I looked at the recording, feeling as if I was in a trance. Unease prickling through me as I took in the time stamp glaring at me from the corner of the video.
No. NO.
It couldn’t be.
“Wait until you see this,” Robert chuckled with a wink at the camera.
Dread detonated in my gut, searing through my entire body like a wildfire. It engulfed me, suffocating me with its crushing hold on my chest and squeezing the air out of my lungs. I was gasping for breath, but there was none to be found in the suffocating grip of panic and utter betrayal.
“Babe…”
My hesitant voice from behind Robert made him turn around. He moved back from the camera to reveal his empty dorm room. Candles were lit up everywhere.
