It is great being the Alpha's son. I have been brought up in a world where I am untouchable. I can do whatever I want and whoever I want with no consequences. Being the heir apparent also comes with the privilege of being able to rule over my pack members or subjects. Just depends on how you look at it. I feel like I'm a King. No take that back. I am a King. One day I will defeat the leader of the Rogues and take over the position of Alpha King. No one will be able to stop me. I've spent years planning how I will do it too. I have a long-term girlfriend. Her name is Ashlynn Acevedo. I've spent years cultivating this relationship. Getting her to fall in love with me. In the beginning, I felt nothing for her. This was just all part of my plan. Don't get me wrong though, after four years with her I am in love with her. I can't see myself with anyone else. Not even my fated mate. So at least this plan has had some added benefits. Ashlynn will be my wife and my Luna.
My father and mother cannot agree on what I see her. She's the daughter of an Alpha, but her pack is financially strapped. My father keeps telling me that she is only with me for what our pack can do for hers. For how we can provide them with the finances that can get them back on track so that they can become more prosperous. My mother on the other hand loves Ashley. She seems to be real close with her father also. Our mothers were friends growing up so there is history there. Which is probably why she likes Ashlynn so much. Again I have a plan. A plan that I haven't let my father in on. Without my parents knowing, I went to see the packs Seer. She is the one who revealed to me who Ashlynn's fated mate is. Let me tell you, it is not me.
Her fated mate is the Leader of the Rogues. Leonidas Freeman. My father has not been able to defeat him. No alpha has. he continues to plunder our lands, kill our warriors, and still our women. it will stop with me. I will defeat him by taking away his strength. Ashland. we wolves are always stronger with our mates by our side. I refuse to allow him to gain that kind of power. The plan was that once I made it and Mark Ashland, I would take out Leonidas, and then I will reject her for my faded mate. however, now I think I will keep her. who actually knows if I will ever find my faded mate. just because the moon got his blessed us with one, it doesn't mean that we will actually find them. My mate could be clear across the globe on another continent. so I will keep her.
I sat next to Ashlynn at the dining table enjoying breakfast with the pack and my parents. Of course being Alpha, my father Titus, sat at the head of the table and my mother Amelia, to his left. His Beta, Winston Jones, sat to his right. I sat next to my mother and of course Ashlynn sat next to me. I watched as my father frowned as he looked at her. He really dislikes her. "Why is she here so early today?" He questioned me about Ashlynn as though she were not even there.
"Good morning Alpha Titus."
"I believe I was speaking to my son.". He glared at her as he spoke.
"Dad that is not necessary. We are going to school together today."
"What will you do when you find your fated mate?"
"Dad...." Luna Amelia cut in
"Quite frankly, I believe that Ashlynn is going to make a perfect Luna. We both know that she is his chosen mate. You need to accept that." Amelia gave Titus a look that said to leave the situation alone. He stared back at her for a moment.
"I know you believe in chosen mates. But I whole heartedly believe in fated mates. Who are we to deny what the Moon Goddess ordained? You will be much stronger with your fated mate son." Ashlynn dropped her head. Alpha Titus always had a way of making her feel as though she were insignificant. She knew that she was with Dean for the wrong reasons, but she had never actually done anything to Alpha Titus. She just could not understand were all the dislike was coming from. Titus looked at his son, "Dean if you continue to listen to your mother, you are going to allow her to lead you down the wrong path." Amelia drew herself up in all of her righteous indignation. She could not believe that Titus would actually say something like that in front of everyone. Let alone to their son. She had never been so embarrassed in her life. It was like he was telling the pack members that she was not worthy of being their Luna because her judgment and words could not be trusted.
"I think that is enough Alpha Titus," she said primly. His retort was cut off as they heard footsteps coming towards the dining room. Winter appeared, followed by Naomi. He smiled as he watched Winter walk pass to the to get to the serving board. He did not realize that Amelia was watching his every move now.
"Good morning Winter."
"Good morning Alpha." He watched as Winter hesitated in her steps. "Alpha, if you have a moment that you can spare later I would greatly appreciate it."
"I will see if we have a moment to spare," Amelia interjected.
"I am sorry my Luna. What I have to say is very sensitive information." Titus sat up in his chair and stared at Winter for a moment. "It is for the Alpha's ears only." Winter mind linked him. 'It's about Naomi.'
"I can see you around one today."
"Thank you Alpha."
"I think it is highly inappropriate for you to be seen females alone in your office." Titus scoffed at what Amelia said. He knew that she simply hated the friendship between he and Winter. She did not understand the closeness between them. She had no idea that Winter and her husband Gentry had saved his life not once, not twice, but three times throughout these years. If Winter wanted a moment of his time he would surely grant it. If she wanted him to protect her niece he would do it. Why would he not? He owed them his life. He glanced at Dean when he heard him sniff loudly. Dean met his eyes and got himself under control. He could not believe it. It had happened. The one thing that he dreaded the most in this world. His faded mate had arrived.
