Chapter Two Naomi

1047 Words
Naomi did not want to have to run away from the pack. No matter how badly she had been treated here she did not know anything else. So she hit it. The love of her life was in this pack also. There was no way she would risk having to leave him behind before she found out if he was her mate. Dean. Dean was the son of the Alpha. Although he had never paid her any attention and had a long-term girlfriend, Naomi could not help but feel a pull towards him. She knew it was wrong. For all she knew Ashlynn was his mate, but she was in love with him. She could not help it. Naomi knew she did not stand a chance with him. The pack hated her. An Alpha would never choose a Luna that his pack despised. She stared at herself again. It was time to show Aunt Winter what has been happening. Today is her eighteenth birthday. Her wolf, Nova, said that she would shift tonight. There will be no more hiding. Taking a deep breath, Naomi yelled out for her Aunt Winter to come upstairs. She stared at her trembling hands as she listened to the frantic steps coming towards her room. Winter rounded the corner to Naomi's bathroom. "What's wrong? Are you hurt," she demanded. Naomi kept her back turned and her head down trying to build up her courage to let her Aunt lay eyes on her. How would she react? Would she want to take her away from here? Would she want to present her to the covens? Winter placed a soothing touch to her back, " Naomi, I can't help if I don't know what's wrong." Naomi spun around with her head still down. She slowly lifted her head to look at Winter. She could hear the sharp intake of breath that Winter had taken. She lifted her chin and stared Winter in the eyes. If she was supposed to be this all-powerful being then she would be just that. Never again would she avert her eyes from someone when she was supposed to be... more. Winter stared at her with widened eyes, mouth slightly agape. Nerves attacked Naomi once again. "Say something Auntie." "I told you I felt the awakening of the Grand witch three years ago. Why... " Winter had no idea how to take this in. Her neice was the Grand Witch. Judging by how half of her head was covered with white hair, she would be the most powerful that has ever been in existence. She knew that Naomi was a strong witch. She having training her since she was three. But never in her wildest dreams did she think that she would be the chosen one. First thing first, make sure Naomi only was okay and attempt to figure out what she could do. Second, get Gentry here as soon as possible. Once her attention moved from her hair, she looked at her eyes and almost choked an air. "Are you wearing contacts? Please tell me you are wearing contacts." Naomi only closed her eyes and just held her breath for a moment. She squeezed her hands as a way to possibly hold herself together. "No." she was met with quiet. "I have been wearing hazel contacts for about two years now. My eyes just got so light that I couldn't hide it anymore. So I had to resort to the contacts. This morning when I tried to put them on, they just melted. They won't last Auntie! What am I going to do? I can't go out like this. Everyone already hates me and thinks I'm a freak. They will probably try to burn me at the stake for looking like this." Her voice had gone too octaves higher. Winter rushed forward and wrapped her arms around her. "Calm down. It's going to be okay. I'm going to get Gentry here okay?" "No! He will want to take me before the council. They killed the last Greenwich because they couldn't control her. What do you think they will do to me," she questioned as she gestured towards her hair. "That won't happen Naomi." Naomi jerked away from Winter and strode into her bedroom. "You only say that because you don't know what I'm capable of." "By the look at that hair I know you are powerful. More powerful than any that has come forward in our history, but..." Naomi cut her off. "Do you know what I can do?" "No, but ..." "Then let me show you," Naomi yelled. She could feel the control slip from her as her head jerked back. The wind started to blow furiously around the house. Winter looked out the window and saw the tree swaying towards the house and the tree roots growing out towards the house. She could see animals and other creatures coming towards the tree line. She saw the ground begin to crack and sparks began to shoot up. She looked back at Naomi and almost lost her composure. What the hell was she? Naomi was levitating just above the floor; her hair completely white. Her eyes shine like gemstones, and she had... fangs. Winter's heart stuttered a couple of beats. "Naomi..." "No. Amina." "Amina. What are you?" "We are three Auntie Winter. There are some things that your sister-in-law hid from you." "Three?" "Wolf, which, vampire demon." Winter froze. Vampire demon. She glanced back out the window and saw that the flames were starting to grow higher. She spun back only to find herself face-to-face with Amina. A crown of gold with flames flickering from the three points. Winter simply stared confused by what it meant as the flames flickered in and out. "We are Queen. Queen of the wolves, the witches and warlocks, and the vampire demons." Winter's legs gave way and she crumpled to the floor. Naomi sat slowly on her knees. She placed her hand on Winter's chin and lifted her face so that they were eye to eye. Winter stared at those eyes. One blue. One gray. "Now do you understand?" Winter slowly nodded. "You are not alone. Gentry won't betray us. We will figure this out. We will keep you safe."
