Declaration

In no time at all we've reached our clothes. Amber behaved herself this time, I have a little more control of her. Conner helps me step into my gown, my skin tingling at his touch. He looks longingly into my eyes as he zips me up. I help him button his shirts and he tilts my chin. He plants a soft tender kiss on my lips. "I Conner future of Alpha of the Bright Moon pack accept you Amaya of the Silent Moon pack as my mate and future Luna" he calmly and firmly says. His eyes eager for me to respond. I stroke his rough stubbled cheek and without hesitation respond "I Amaya, Alpha's daughter, of the Silent Moon pack accept you Conner future Alpha of the Bright Moon pack as my mate and Alpha".

The biggest grin I have ever seen spreads over his face. He pulls me into a bear hug and sniffs my hair. I have never felt so complete. I know that he and I will take care of each other for all time. "We should go and tell everyone" he beams at me, he's happy like a puppy. He picks me us and spins me around "Conner!" I squeal, he stops looking sheepish. "Sorry I got carried away Angel" he says rubbing the back of his neck. "It's fine my love, come on, we should tell our parents. Split up and meet at the bar with them?" I ask. He nods and we head off into the crowd in different directions.

I feel the loss of his skin against mine. I turn around and he's right there staring back at me. "Go" I mouth at him, he shrugs and turns to seek out his parents. I move through the crowd having to stop occasionally to make small talk with people congratulating me. I catch a glimpse of my father by the bar and head in that direction. As I approach I realise Conner has managed to round up both sets of parents without my help.

"What's going on?" My father Aiden asks. Conner takes my hand in his, I clock our Mothers' raised eyebrows.

"Firstly Alpha Aiden and Luna Julie I would like to express my gratitude for your hospitality this evening. The alliance between our packs is strong and I hope after tonight it will become even stronger. I would like your permission to claim your daughter as she is my fated mate." Conner spoke in a firm and respectful manner.

"Amaya, is this what you want?" asked my father. Without hesitation I looked into my mates eyes and said yes. My father grasped and shook Conner's hand "Congratulations are in order then!" he said. Alpha Anders lifted my hand and kissed my knuckles. "We are delighted to welcome you to the family. The pack will be pleased to hear that Conner has found his Luna." Anders said. Luna Arya pulled me into a hug, when she pulled back she had a tear in her eye. I knew she was hoping to arrange this pairing but she was overjoyed that it had been fated.

"We'll return home first thing to introduce our future Luna!" Arya beamed.

It felt like the floor fell out from underneath me. I'd be leaving tomorrow morning. My pack, my parents, my friends and my home. I wobbled slightly, my legs weak beneath me. Conner supported me instantly. Concern spread over his face. He could feel my anxiety through our mate bond. "Actually Mother, Father I feel it would be best if we remained here a week or two before returning to our home. Amaya only came of age today, it would be unfair to ask her to leave her life behind in 24 hours. I am yet to take over as Alpha you can manage without for a few weeks. When we return we can plan our wedding." Conner informed his parents, I could feel he wasn't really asking permission. I squeezed his hand grateful of his immediate response. "Two weeks, and We'll start the preparations ahead of your return." Alpha Anders stated. There was clearly going to be no further negotiations here.

I caught my father clambering on to the bar next to me. "Ladies and Gentlemen can I have your attention please!" he boomed using his Alpha voice. Within an instant the garden party was silent. "It's become apparent that even more congratulations are in order tonight. My beautiful daughter is fated to future Alpha Conner of the Bright Moon pack. She will be leaving us in two weeks time to join her new pack as future Luna." He threw his arms over his head and the party erupts into cheers and woops.

Conner leant in, kissing me gently on the lips, and picked me up spinning me around in the air. I can't help but be surprised at how much my life has changed since this morning! Once I have been replaced on the ground I feel a hand on my arm. "Mum?" I ask as she looks at me wistfully. "Can I borrow my daughter for a few moments Conner?" she asks. He nods and lets my mother lead me away.
