Chapter 3As they discussed different ways to try and fight Amélie’s Feral ruling, they came to two core problems:
One, It would require the help of at least one person connected to the council, if not more, and asking for that assistance would immediately make them an accessory to the crime.
Two, It would require medical tests and testimony that only Abigail could provide—and the doctor would be legally obligated to report all of them if they asked for her help.
“I can’t just take blood samples or ask you to pee into a bottle and walk into her clinic.” Amy shook her head. “Abigail’s a good friend, but that would be too far.”
Amélie considered that for a moment. “You are right. You cannot ask her that…but perhaps I can.”
Amy blinked. “What?”
