I was excited about going to work today, but now I’m not.
“A business trip out of the country? When did he leave?” Kelly asked.
I texted her earlier to have lunch with me at our favorite restaurant just a few blocks away from our office and she immediately agreed. I didn’t tell her that I’d be sulking for the entire meal simply because I didn’t even get the chance to see Liam earlier today before his flight to Japan.
“His flight was earlier this morning at 5 o’clock.”
“Whoa, that early, huh? What happened? That’s too sudden.”
I nodded in agreement. “Yeah, well, apparently his father has been trying to get in touch with him since after the fundraising event last Saturday, but he was with me and then on Sunday, his mother and stepfather were with us, as well.”
