He didn’t respond to me after our conversation in the kitchen, and to be honest with you, the days following included working, training, hanging out with Joshua for an hour or two, then disappearing into his office. I tried to stay awake long enough to see him, but I was never that lucky. Why can’t I be like him and make him talk to me? Why do I feel like I’m being shut out on purpose? I stared at the glow under the door in front of me and bit my lip. I could hear people talking in there and I didn’t want to be rude. Especially since there really isn’t anything I can contribute to. I know Johnathan has asked Gran and the king about my progress recently, but I just can’t figure out why in the world someone would want to hurt a group they want nothing to do with.
