“Come with me, then,” Thomas said. “Or sit in the car out of the rain.” They waded through the flood and onto the track, which was now like a small river. Fortunately, Thomas had remembered to bring the lantern, so they blundered from the least wet part of the track as the rain slashed into their faces and the gusting wind tried to push them into the moor.
