We exit the office and Loren takes my hand.
"It's difficult, isn't it?"
"Very much so. I'm glad they have the chance to leave those situations behind thanks to your foundation."
"We do what we can. I have to confess that we also receive men, and although it may seem incredible, there are some who are abused by their wives."
"Yes, I can imagine."
"Unfortunately, it's often difficult for women to recognize abuse, and for men it's even worse. Maybe due to shame, but they report it much less frequently."
We continue with the tour and they're truly doing great work. After a few hours, Brett calls me.
"Honey, we've arrived."
"Great, Loren and I will come to greet you."
I hang up and Loren smiles at me. "This is going to be unforgettable," she says enthusiastically.
