How does an average day for Bridget Lovey start you may ask? Well, First of all, I have my maid Cassandra bring me a cup of freshly brewed mint green tea. Which I have every morning before school. My body basically runs on green tea, that first sip of green tea is like heaven in my mouth. It's almost like on a hot summers day when you're boiling to death from the heat and the only thing that cools you down is ice cold lemonade. It's like that but one hundred times better. Some people have weird things they enjoy like long walks on the beach. My ex Jordan Smith use to take me to the beach in the summertime, It was romantic until I had to walk on squishy sand and it used to go right into my shoes. Like gross! Or my ex-best friend Sarah Hall from middle school used to dip her flaming hot Cheeto's in chocolate milk. I honestly could not think of anything worse. I compare Green tea to drugs. Although I've never actually tried drugs before I would imagine it's almost like if you don't have them then your body can't function throughout the day
.
Cassandra has worked for my mother for 11 years now. She's a lot older than my mom but I must say she is very beautiful. Cassandra rarely talks but when she does she answers with a smile. She has really big boobs. Like to the point where if she's walking through a hallway she literally has to turn sideways just so she can walk through it without squishing her boobs. Every time she does the laundry her hair, which is dyed black but you can see her grey regrowth, Is always half stuck to her face from sweat. I feel half bad for her for doing my laundry. I don't think someone should be paid to do your dirty work but she actually enjoys working for my mom which I don't know who would ever like working for my mom. It's not that she's mean or anything but she's very intimidating.
While Cassandra fetches my green tea. I finally hop out of my warm bed and run to my window to look at the snow which is finally melting away. My bed is located in the far corner of my room because I like looking at my window from my bed. My bed never use to be situated there but once in the seventh grade, I left my window open when it was raining and my whole bed and floor flooded. It doesn't snow much in Crestwood but trust me when it does it's total mayhem. Last year Anna Maple got snowed into her car after falling asleep. It was the funniest thing to see the fire department getting called just to shovel snow away from her car. It's actually pretty warm today, I love days like this when I can wear my skin tight jeans that show off my butt to Hudson Michaels. I've been trying all year to go out with him but he says he's way too busy for a girlfriend. Which doesn't surprise me really since he is the captain of the Lacrosse team and he works at his dad's Construction company. Sometimes my bestie Clair and I drive over to where him and his dad are working at the construction site and we watch him nail things together. We're total creeps but he just is so hot when he sweats.
Mom always says in order to look your best you have to feel your best. Which for the most part I do look good. Not in a conceded way or anything but I feel very confident with how I look for the most part. I just don't like getting ready for school in the morning. It's like I almost wish we wore uniforms or something to school so I don't have to stress about wearing the same navy sweater two days In a row. I usually try to dress to impress hence the skin-tight jeans but I couldn't be bothered today. After getting ready for school and brushing my teeth I head downstairs for breakfast with my mom. With all the money my mom earns from her job as the co-founder of this teach company for cyber safety online. My mom has always been very good with computer programming and anything tech, but she's always had a passion for everyone's safety online. You would be surprised to hear we don't have a private chef. Mom is very particular about who makes or touches her food. I remember once mom and I were watching this crime show on tv about this husband who would put small amounts of poison in his wife's food to slowly kill her.
"Good morning Bridget," mom says in an almost high pitch squeal. As I walk around the kitchen to sit at the table with her.
"Hello mother," I say with a sheepish grin.
Mom hates it when I call her mother. She once told me that it makes her sound old.
"How did you sleep," she says while pointing to a big plant of pancakes.
"Same old, same old" I reply while stuffing half of the pancake in my mouth.
"Ok so about your birthday tomorrow," she says looking worried.
"Mom! I told you not to worry, I've got everything planned I just have to order the pizzas and beverages for tomorrow" I say while almost choking on the pancake.
Mom makes the best pancakes ever. She always throws a little bit of chocolate into the batter before she starts cooking them. It's divine.
"it's not that Bridget, I have a lot of trust in you planning this party it's just I can't make it tomorrow night", she says crossing her arms.
"Why?" I frown giving her a confused glance.
"I have to work late tomorrow and I have a lot of errands I have to run, so I can't make it back in time"
In my mind, one hundred thoughts are racing through my head. One I will have the house to myself, two I can invite more people without mom complaining and three Hudson Michaels will come for sure if I invite the whole lacrosse team. Realising that I was thinking too long my mom stares at me with a blank face waiting for me to respond.
"Mom, it's totally fine, you've been there for all my sixteen birthday parties so far, and missing out on one doesn't bother me at all," I say grinning to myself.
My real birthday isn't actually tomorrow it's the day after but mom said I could only have my party on Friday night for some odd reason.
"Oh ok well I will make it up to you, I will take you out for dinner tonight instead!" She says reassuring me to not be upset when clearly I'm not.
I'm so ecstatic I could pee my pants. I've never actually had a huge house party like most kids my age. Although I did love my birthday last year. Mom took me to Hawaii and we swam with dolphins. I nod my head calmly and agree to have dinner tonight with her. After gulping down one and a half pancakes I grab my bag which I left hanging up near the front door and proceed to walk outside.
"Bridget remember to lock the door behind you," mom says loud enough for me to hear her from the dining room.
"Always mom," I say and step outside.
My beautiful pink BMW is sitting outside of the garage. I get Cassandra to drive it out every day so I don't have to because I'm scared I will scratch it. The inside of the car is pretty plain. Just all Black interior expect for my little piglet pushy keychain that smells like cherry which hangs from my mirror. Driving in Crestwood is like driving in the middle of nowhere. Rarely anyone drives to school they all catch the bus which is gross because. One germs and two the bus driver is very creepy looking. I make a right turn and head to Clair's house. Clair has been my friend since the second grade. Her mom and my mom met when they use to take us to ballet lessons when we were little. Her parents are both pretty wealthy. Her dad is a lawyer and her mom is a nurse.
Clair's house looks like a mini-mansion. With a very modern layout, and huge windows surrounding every corner.
"Get in b***h," I say as she approaches my car, With her huge purple Nike gym bag.
Clair trains every Wednesday through Friday in her tennis lessons. She always brings two tennis rackets just in case the other one breaks. Which you wouldn't be surprised to hear that her rackets always break. I once watched her while she trained and the middle of racket broke in the mid-air as the ball came flying at an unfathomable speed. Clair is actually pretty amazing at tennis, last season she placed 2nd in the state championship.
"I'm too stressed to talk just drive," she says without even buckling her seatbelt.
I turn my head at her and give her a confused look.
"If you must know my tennis match is in a month and I'm stressing because I haven't trained yet," she says almost holding back tears.
I laugh out loud as she tells me this.
"Clair you're delusional one month is plenty of time to train," I say elbowing her arm.
"I usually train months in advance," she says and hangs her head back.
I just shake my head and turn the radio on to some random radio presenters talking about how chewing gum is bad for you.
Our school's parking lot layout out is almost like I circle. You have the school in the middle. The football field on the right and surrounding the school is the parking lot.
"s**t," I say holding my breath as I almost scrape the white Prius that is parked in the spot next to me.
Clair and I go to Sapphire Academy. By that name, you would think it's a private school, but it's not. Mom didn't want me to go to a public high school but I insisted to because Clair was going I couldn't leave my bestie behind.
The first three periods went by in a flash. I had art, history and maths, my least favorite subjects. I prefer English. English for me has always been easy. Although we have to write a one thousand word essay as to why we shouldn't be wasting paper. Which to me is ridiculous because we are literally wasting paper while we are writing this essay. But besides it being easy I enjoy it the most because of our hot teacher Mr. Heartson. It's kind of ironic because he has the word heart in his name and all the girls in my grade crush over him. His dark brown eyes make everything in my body fall apart. I think he's like twenty-seven but I swear he's lying about his age because he doesn't look a day over twenty-two.
At lunch, Clair and I sit with our second bestie Brent. We met him last year when Clair and I auditioned for the musical Annie. Unfortunately, I didn't play Annie which I would have been spectacular at. I played Molly and Clair played Sandy the dog. Brent has an amazing singing voice, that's why he was cast for the role of Annie. Ever since then he has been such an amazing friend. One time when I was having a breakdown over the vending machine not working Brent offered me his lunch, I obviously declined and instead, we drove to burger king and ate lunch there but still, it was a nice gesture.
"I'm failing in Geography," Brent says stuffing his face with French fries as Clair and I take our seats on the opposite side of the lunch table.
"Tell me about it! I'm failing maths big time and if my parents found out I will be screwed" Clair says after unpacking her perfectly organized lunch box.
Clair rarely eats at the cafeteria because she's Pescatarian which basically means her diet consists of not eating any sorts of meat and only consuming fish.
"Quit complaining guys we have my seventeenth birthday party to plan," I say as I unintentionally remind them, while I sip the awful tasting tea from the cafeteria. They, unfortunately, don't sell green tea in my school's cafeteria so I have to settle with second best.
"Wait, Bridget," Clair says as she cuts her fish. "who are you inviting?"
"Yeah any cute boys," Brent says winking at me.
I blush "Daniel Richmond is coming but he's bringing Cassie Silverman as his plus one.
"Is Hudson coming?" Brent says.
"Hopefully but to be honest I don't know, he said he has this thing with his parents, but I'm hoping if I invite his lacrosse friends he might show up"
I wouldn't say, Clair, Brent and I are the popular kids but we are for sure as damn are the hottest. Brent has brown hair, tan skin, and green eyes, Clair has black hair, the perfect tiny waist and she's just the right height to be a model. I have blondish brown hair and average looking boring brown eyes. I look a lot like my mother. Which people have told me is a good thing.
Last period we have P.E, which basically means Clair and I sit on the stands and pretend we have period cramps and we can't run. Coach Tyler's never questions it. Mom once bought the coach a very expensive handbag just so I could get an A. Which mom never does but I was desperate to pass. Every year since then she's just given me straight A's which thank the lord I don't have to run like I prefer watching Hudson and his friends play lacrosse on the other side of the field, Then wasting my time sweating and ruining my Nike's.
"He's so good with his stick," Clair says unintentionally out loud and both of us burst into a craze of laughter.
"Sleepover at yours after your party tomorrow?" Brent says as he opens door to my car while he's texting his boyfriend Quinn Violets.
"Yeah, totally mom will be gone in the morning anyway so we can raid the refrigerator" I grin, Smiling at the thought of eating all Reece's peanut butter cups in the bar fridge for breakfast.
"Drop me here," Clair says abruptly as I slam the breaks firmly.
"Why? We're only two blocks away from your house, what's the rush?" I say looking confused as to why she wants to get out.
"I'm meeting someone here," she says not wanting us to ask more questions.
"Is it Ethan Hunters?" Brent says teasing her.
"Ew not that nerdy kid from science class, " she says gagging.
"It's just a present for your birthday I have to go pick up from someone, " Clair says sounding like she just made up the excuse on the spot.
"Ok whatever," I say, and she hops out of the passenger side of the car.
"That was weird," Brent says.
"What makes you say that?" I say genuinely looking confused.
"Why couldn't she just wait to meet the person at her house?"
"You know how her parents are about her having strangers over"
"All I know is I'm extremely hungry and craving McDonald's"
"Yeah well, all I know is I don't by it for a second that it's for your birthday. I mean come on what kind of person delivers a gift in person two streets away?"
I agree that its pretty odd but I brush the thought away and we head to McDonald's.
On the way Brent and I basically scream the words to Britney Spears "hit me, baby, one more time"
The parking lot at McDonald's is surprisingly empty for a Thursday afternoon. I park the car close to the entrance and Brent and I head inside. We only have three McDonald's in Crestwood, we did have four but it burnt down last summer. There are about six people lining up to order food so I take my place behind a guy with a full on afro. I hear the sliding doors to the entrance open and I turn my head slightly to see who is entering. Brent gasped behind me as I realize who has just entered.
"Omg Hudson," Brent says to me.
Behind Hudson, there is a girl holding his hand tightly
"Oh my god," I say looking surprised.
As I can finally see the girls face, both Brent gasp from surprise.
"Clair" Brent and I basically scream.
