Chapter 2 A month after the wedding Roman had a meeting with two men and Rosalie’s sister Elena. The woman was more ruthless than he was, he marveled at the thought of her and Rosalie being raised together. The two looked nothing alike. He still wanted to know why his bride was hidden away, he hadn’t even known the Bianchi family had two daughters’ until Elena made the suggestion two months ago. She promised a mafia queen. One look at Rosalie told him she didn’t know one thing about being a wife to a Don. She screamed virgin. She screamed never been kissed; it was why he opted to kiss her cheek instead of her lips at the wedding a month ago. He’s also left his new wife to wilt in her room. She’d only made appearances at dinner and when her cousin came to visit. If he be worried about a man visiting his wife daily if he didn’t know Aristide Bianchi was married to a beautiful Italian, American woman Katerina. Roman was at their wedding five years ago, they had three boys, triplets. He thought about Rosalie’s little confession about not wearing heels, she thought she saved herself, but he noticed her grimace when she realized she was supposed to be trained how to be a powerful man’s wife. He wondered if they’d spoiled her and that was why she had no idea how to be a wife. His mother had been taking care of Rosalie’s tasks because his wife refused to come out of her room unless it was for her cousin or she was eating. Roman found himself strangely captivated by Rosalie’s behavior. He’d expected a trembling bride, or someone who’d try to seduce him to have children immediately after the wedding, yet his wife had done neither of those things. His wife met his gaze, she looked intrigued by him, she didn’t look at him like she was undressing him, just assessing him. Many thought Rosalie’s silence was her submitting to him, but he knew better, she was assessing him. She didn’t hold conversations well. But she could assess people the same way he did. He recognized her intent, because he often found himself sitting back assessing his men, his family and anyone he came across. That intrigued him as much as it unnerved him. He wanted to know what conclusion she came to. The knock on his office door brought him out of his thoughts. Was it time for his meeting already? He checked the time on his wristband; it was still three hours away. “Come in…” Roman said deep in thought, he wondered if something happened and… His thoughts are cut off when Selena walks into his office and slams the door behind her. He swallows when she strutted toward him sensually. “Roman, Roman… Where is my Roman?” She practically purrs at him. Roman grimaces. She climbs onto his desk and crawls over to him. Roman stands and walks around the desk. “What are you doing here, Selena?” He hissed, he didn’t even know how she got in. What if Rosalie saw her? “You don’t call? You don’t write?” She pouted, her red lips alluring as always. Roman could still remember how they looked on his d**k. She sits on Roman’s desk legs open giving him a view of her bare p***y. Roman swallows looking away. “I’m sure I told you when we ended things it was over…” She ignores him. “What’s a girl supposed to think? Her man suddenly ends things when we’ve been together for years. Even when you got your flavor of the week, you still came back to me. now you’ve somehow moved on? I don’t believe it.” She arched an elegant, thin eyebrow at him. He knew she had done it at least once a month, because she always charged it to the card he’d given her. But when he married Rosalie, he took the card back. That money now belonged to his wife. Another thing that confused him about his wife, she never left the house to go shopping, she didn’t try to redecorate his house. She stayed in her room, she mentioned bringing in a few people to help decorate her room and he agreed. Roman narrows his eyes at Selena. “I’m married now, and I was very clear about us being done, Selena. Why the hell are you in my house? My wife could have seen you…” he glares at her. Selena rolled her bright blue eyes at him. She widened her legs when she saw she wasn’t getting anywhere with words. It’s worked a hundred times before, yet right now it didn’t hold any effect over him. She didn’t have the same hold over him as she did when they were together. Roman nostrils flared. “It’s not going to work Selena; you need to leave.” Roman needed to get her out of there before she messed everything up for him. Before Elena or his wife saw her. Roman paused and he realized he had been thinking of Rosalie as his wife and not as a pawn as she was supposed to be. “Come on it’s not like your mousy little wife has a say in who you f**k… There’s no way she’s enough to satisfy you…” she pursed her lips. “I respect my wife, Selena; I’m not going around f*****g every woman who approaches me.” Roman snapped, he’d just about had it with Selena. She knew when they started that it wasn’t forever. Now she’s begging for more. He’d kept her by his side for five years because wasn’t needy like the other women his been with. It seems her nonchalance was a façade he didn’t see through. She played him right into the hands until he married that is. Did she truly believe he would marry her? Selena smiled seductively. “Come on for old times’ sake. Just this once?” she begged leaning forward so her soft cleavage pressed against the confines of her blood red low plunging dress. Roman ground his teeth, he had only himself to blame for the situation he was in. He should have made things clearer to her. Roman tried to reign in his temper. He didn’t want to throw her out like a dog. Selena deserved better than that. She’s been by his side the longest. “Selena, you can’t be here.” He warned. He was worried Rosalie would feel bad if she saw him with another woman, when he hasn’t even bed his own wife yet. Roman watched Selena’s face turn to he didn’t recognize on her. Her expression turned ugly. “I’m pregnant and you’re the father!” She roared. Roman paused and looked at her confused. His eyes went down to her flat stomach and when he finally turned to her eyes he realized she wasn’t saying it for his benefit. Selena wasn’t looking at him. She was looking over his shoulder. When he turned to see what she was looking at. She was looking at his wife. Rosalie was standing in the door, her hand still on the door handle. Her curious eyes bounced between Roman and Selena. She smiled perfectly. “I’m sorry I didn’t realize you had company… If you’ll excuse me…” she turned to walk away. Roman called her back. “Rosalie!” Rosalie paused and turned to look at him. “What she said…” Roman begins, but Rosalie cuts him off. “Oh, I know she’s not pregnant. It was all for my benefit when you rejected sleeping with her. I was just calling you for lunch. Will you be joining us, Miss?” she smiles sweetly. The smile sent a shiver down Roman’s spine. Yet it excited him in all the wrong ways. He wanted to drag his wife to her bedroom and have his way with her. He didn’t like the way she understood the situation better than he could explain. He didn’t know how long she’d been standing there. His senses were normally heighted yet, he didn’t even hear her open the door. “No, Selena was just leaving. She’s got places to be don’t you Selena?” Roman glared at Selena, and she chewed her lip. He watched as his tiny wife intimidating Selena. Rosalie wasn’t wearing heels now; she had a pair of white converse sneakers on with a pair of bright pink overalls. It was comical because his wife was 5 foot nothing and Selena was 5’11. “I could speak to the chef who cooks our meals about adding something for you. But I’m sure what your preferences are…” Rosalie extended an invitation yet to Roman’s ears it sounded like she was telling Selena to f**k off. Selena might not have picked up on Rosalie’s hint but Roman did. He watched his wife, her spine was straight, her nose tilted up like she was better than Selena. He agreed, she was so much better than Selena. Because when he finally beds his wife, he knew she was his and only his. He didn’t know why the prospect of bedding his wife turned him on the way it did, but it did. Selena glared at Rosalie and moved toward the door. Rosalie stepped in front of her so she couldn’t walk out. “Move!” Selena demanded.
