"A month?" It was all I could do to keep my expression from faltering. "I... wasn't there two months left?"
"Yes," Keanu said, his gaze on my face.
"But how could they just change the date, especially without letting you know?"
"Apparently, the other board members have been talking, and a couple suggested the date change. The others didn't see anything wrong with it."
His brows furrowed, and he got the look he got whenever he was thinking there was more to something.
"What are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking my dear stepfather might be planning a surprise for me," he said tightly.
I grimaced. "You think Stephen is the one influencing the other board members?"
