Myles pov
I look into Briar's eye-height cubby as she sleeps. After a few minutesshe wakes up. "What are you doing here?" she asks scared."Briar," I say, "I just don't care anymore and I really hope youcan do that too. I love you and I don't let others drive us apart."
It's evening and the last two days I haven't seen Briar once. She sleepsthe whole day and I doubt if she even eats. It hurts. I can't worry anymoreabout someone else. I don't care if they know. I don't care about Victoria'sstupid rule, besides she's just freaking selfish.
I grab her hand and I see a tear in the corner of her eye. "PleaseBriar," I say, "we'll be alright, we'll survive whatever they'll say. We've Jordan on our side."
Briar starts to laugh and I look confused. "What?" I ask."Too sappy," Briar says. "Well if you don't appreciate it that Icare about you, I can just go," I say seriously and let go of her hand."No no no no no," she says anxious, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Please don't go."
"Gotcha," I say with a smirk. "You stupid, ugh, why'reyou so cute," Briar says frustrated. "I can't help it," I saypretending I mean it, but I can't not smile. "But serious," Briarsays, "the only time you're allowed to grab my hand like that and look soserious, is when you're gonna propose."
"Wait a second," I say, "who says I wanna marryyou???" "I'm not saying I want to marry you," Briar saysdefending herself, "I just want to make sure that you NEVER scare me againlike that." "Yessur," I say like it's a command. I lean forwardand kiss her.
"So I assume you feel better," I say a few seconds later."Yea right now, but when you leave it will probably be gone before I caneven blink," she says blushing. "That's why I'm here," I say,"we're gonna watch a movie." "I'm sorry," she says,"next time maybe." "Come on," I say begging her to come,"it's a horror movie." "You know I literally hate horrormovies," Briar says and giggles. "Yea," I say, "but Ithought you wouldn't have a problem with sitting close to me for almost twohours." "Two whole hours!" I repeat.
Briar sighs, "touche." I smile. "So what's theplan?" she asks. "What do you mean plan?" I ask a bitconfused." "Obviously I can't just sit besides you and snuggle up inyour arms when I'm scared," she says frustrated. "Why not?" Iask, "can we just do this without a plan and just see what happens? Can wejust do what feels good to us, and not only do the things which others makehappy? Can we be a little selfish for once?"
Briar sighs again. "You sure?" she asks. "I can't be moresure," I say, "we can't hide it forever."
"Myles," she says, "I love you." "Love you toolittle B," I say and smile. We kiss again, not caring if anyone would seeit, which they wouldn't because they're way to busy choosing a movie in theback lounge. "
"Horror movie starts in 10 minutes," I say just a few inchesfrom her face. "Who's idea was that actually?" Briar asks, "anddit everyone agree?" "Trevor," I say obviously, "and yessurprisingly everyone agreed." Briar swings her legs over the edge of hercubby. "I'm just going quick to the toilet and I'll be there in aminute," she says. "Good," I say with a smile from ear to ear onmy face.
I walk back to the back lounge like I can conquer the whole world, butat the same time I feel super nervous about what's going to happen. My legsfeel shaky as hell as I walk into the back lounge and everybody looks at me."And?" Isaac asks. "She eh," I say trying not to let thenerves take me over, "she feels better and will be here any minute.""Good," Brittany says with a smile, "I haven't seen her in liketwo days and I missed her."
Victoria pov
Right after Brittany said I look up and see that Briar walks in."Good to see you," Lamar says breaking the slightly awkward silence.Briar just smiles. Jordan, who sits besides Myles on the other couch, movescloser to Isaac, who's on the other side of her, to make place for Briar tosit. "Glad you feel better," Jordan says cheerful.
The movie starts and Briar sits down between Jordan and Myles puttingher knees up. My eyes stay on Briar. She looks slightly better, but why was sheso sick out of nowhere? I literally haven't seen her in two days, but I neverheard her sneeze, or couch, or anything like that. Yea she looks exhausted, shelooks like she hasn't slept in like a week, but sick? No, she doesn't looksick. Not the 'weak, fever and nauseous' kind of sick.
I turn back to the tv but my thoughts are still somewhere else. I can'thelp it but think that this has something to do with that guy she's crushingon.
It's clearly, love does more wrong than it does good. I'm glad I broughtup that rule. Although it's stupid everyone is apparently calling it'Victoria's rule'. Like come on, I thought everyone agreed with it, so it'sjust a rule like all the other rules, which I by the way forgot, but who cares.
I wake out my gaze from Brittany screaming and disappearing under herblanket which caused others to laugh. I decide to just focus on the movie.
"NEXT," Isaac way too excited says as soon as the filmfinished. "For once," I say, "I agree, it wasn't thatscary." "Have you even seen the movie?" Brittany asks offended."Yea," I say, "most of it." "Oké guys," Jordansays laughing, "didn't knew I would ever say this, but I actually likedthis movie." "And part two is even like a million times better,"Lamar says. "Has someone part two?" Brittany asks. "Yeah,"says Lamar, "I'll get it."
He stands up and puts the lights back on which were off during themovie. "Ah!" Briar says, "that light burns my eyes!" Inotice now that she lay/sat maybe a little too close to Myles. "Wellthat's what happens when you fall asleep," Isaac jokes. "I didn'tfell asleep!" Briar says defensive. "So you're saying that youvoluntarily sat so close to Myles?" Isaac smirks. "Whatever,"Briar says giving up on the argument and grabbing her phone.
"No way," Isaac says jokingly, "this is not overyet." "So what is their ship name?" he asks looking at Brittanyand me, "Myliar? Mriar? Byles?" "Bryles," Trevor saysjoining the conversation out of nowhere.
"Okay this is ridiculous," Jordan says then seriously, shesounds a little annoyed though, "you tried to hide behind me during thescary moments Isaac!" "Chill!" Isaac says confused, "I wasjust joking." "Bingo!" Trevor says then. Seriously, he's themost random guy ever. Well, he's in the top three with Lamar and Isaac, can'tforget about their randomness.
"Why bingo?" I ask. "I just figured out the biggestmystery of this tour." "I'm so sorry," Jordan says thenapologizing too Briar. What is going on? Where the hell is Jordan apologizingfor. "It's fine," Myles reacts then on Jordan, "don't even apology."
Brittany leans closer to my ear. "Where is this about?" sheasks confused. "To be honest," I say, "I have literally noidea." "So," Trevor starts, "one of the first nights.. Wasit the first night Isaac?" "I don't know," Isaac says, "Ithink it." "So the first night of this tour," he starts again,"it was in the middle of the night and Isaa-"
"Okay," Lamar says loud walking back into the lounge,"I've the second part." "Wait wait wait," I say,"Trevor was telling something important." "Can't be moreimportant than this movie," Lamar says continuing setting up themovie." "That can wait," Brittany says irritated. "Who'svotes for just watching the movie?" Myles asks before anyone can asksomething else. Right away Briar, Jordan and Lamar put a hand in the air."Four to four," Lamar says, "and Jordan is the oldest her, soshe counts for two."
"Hé," Jordan says, "that was almost nice, I'll just takeit as a compliment." "No thanks," Lamar says.
So that's how we ended up still knowing nothing. Stupid. Ugh. Somepeople... I'll be so glad when we reach our destination in two days!
