Gone

Lamar pov We should've come back much later. Just a few minutes after we're back in the bus it starts snowing like crazy. "That was close," I say, "thank you Jordan for that comment." "No problem," she says. "Hé Jordan," Brittany says, "you've to make work from it, 'Jordan the fortuneteller'." They laugh. Probably some kind of inside joke since no one else gets it. "Well luckily we're all inside," Jordan says. "Eh guys," Myles says worried as he just walked to the back lounge and back to us. Right now we're 'hanging out' in the front lounge. "Where's Briar?" Myles continuous. "She stayed here with Victoria while Isaac and I were in front of the bus," Brittany says, "but I haven't seen her since I'm back." "Victoria?" Jordan says asking for a explanation. "We had a fight," Victoria says casual, "and then she walked away." "What do you mean 'walked away'?" Myles asks jumping up. I think I've never seen him even close to this mad. He looks like he can explode ever second "She putted her jacket on and walked away," Victoria says again, "you know with legs, one foot in front of the other and that again and again." "And how long ago was that?" Jordan asks. "A while," Victoria says. "So she can be everywhere," Jordan conclude. Myles pushes everyone aside to walk to the door. "Myles wait," Trevor says and tries to pull him back but Myles is too strong and he just ignores Trevor. He opens the door and a cold gust comes inside. He walks outside and the door closer behind him. Trevor opens the door and he and I walk after Myles. "Myles," I yell, "come back, you're not gonna find her in this weather." "I don't care!" he yells back and keeps on walking. Trevor and I run after him to stop him. After a while Myles gives up and falls down on his knees in the snow. "Come," I say to him, "lets go first back inside before we freeze to death." We walk back inside where Victoria escaped to her bunk and Brittany and Jordan are waiting with blankets. It's so freaking cold outside. Myles falls down on the ground and curls himself up. I caught myself crying too. If she didn't found a shelter she's dead within an hour. The rest of the day there's a weird silence in the bus. Nobody dares to talk. Sometimes you hear people cry or someone whispering trying to calm someone else down. It's dark in the bus. The lights don't work and the snow storm is like really really heavy. If Briar found a shelter I hope it stops fast snowing and hope that she finds a way back. She doesn't has any food with her. A few hours later, probably somewhere around dinnertime, Trevor gives everyone a cup cold soup. Since we don't know how long we'll have to survive, we try to eat as little as possible. Although it tastes awful, it's nice to have something in my stomach again. I lay in my bunk early. I almost didn't sleep last night because I couldn't get Mr. Carter out my head so I'm tired as crazy right now. Myles pov I wake up on the couch where I fell asleep last night. Briar is the first thing that is on my mind. I don't know if I've ever been this heartbroken. That Victoria got in a fight with Briar okay, whatever. But why did Victoria just let her leave? Why did she just let her go? Doesn't she care or something. I'm so disappointed in her. Tears come back in my eyes. Where's Briar? I she okay, or did she already die? "Here," Jordan says pressing a cup of cold soup in my hands. "No thanks," I say. "You've to eat something," Jordan says, "you haven't ate yesterday either." "I'm not hungry," I say and move the curtains to look outside. I hear Jordan walk away. "Where are you Briar?" I whisper while a tear runs down my cheek. Days look the same. I wake up, Jordan forces me to eat and drink something, I stare outside to the snow, I cry, I fall back asleep, I wake up again, I've a small talk with someone, and then it all starts over again. I don't know anymore how many days we're actually lost, I don't know if someone already came up with a solution. I just sit here on the couch and nothing more than that. The days go slow. There isn't any sign from Briar and it seems like my worst nightmare is coming true. Because of the snow we're basically trapped in the bus. It just doesn't stop snowing. Nobody even dares to go outside. "Myles," Victoria says as she walks in the back lounge. Her eyes are red and puffy. "I'm so sorry," she says and she burst into tears, "it's all my fault." I start crying again. "It's not all your fault," I say, "or maybe it is, I don't know, I don't even care who's fault it is." I try to wipe away my tears but they just keep coming. I really don't care about who's fault it is. In the end she walked away and there's nothing we can do about it anymore. "Thank you," Victoria says standing up and walking away. That's it. I've to learn to live with it, Briar probably isn't going to be able to come back.
