Set fire to the rain

Victoria pov "Guys, we've a plan!" Isaac says excited as he, Jordan, Lamar and Trevor walk back in. They we're looking for a better place to stay again while Brittany, Myles and I stayed here, filled empty water bottles with snow. Hopefully the snow will melt so we have water to drink. "But we need something to move snow," Trevor says. "Can I know what the plan is?" Brittany asks. "We found something that looks like a cave not far from here," Lamar explains, "so the plan is to move this bus too that cave." "Wait," Myles says standing up, "what if Briar comes back here and the bus is gone." "Myles," Isaac says looking pretty serious, "we've to look forward, the change she's going to come back is almost ni-." "Shut up Isaac," Jordan cuts him up, "it's not far from here and if she comes back it will be alright, we'll work something out." "So how are we going to do that?" I ask. "Pushing and pulling and hopefully the snow won't work too much against us," Trevor says. "K lets do it!" Brittany says cheerful, clapping in her hands. We found a rope somewhere and tie it at the front of the bus. One person 'drives', is more just controlling the wheel, and the rest helps getting the bus forward. Because we came to a halt against a few trees, we've to go backwards first and then forward. Yes of course we tried whether the bus works, but it somehow didn't. I still hope someone turns out to be a engine-genius or something. The snow is amazingly high, so it's kind of hard to move the bus. We try to move the snow a little out of the way and press the rest against each other so it hopefully becomes slippery so the bus can easily slide over it. Did almost work.... After a few hours we finally got the bus to the kind of cave. From what I can see outside it looks more like a huge overhanging rock, but it looks pretty dark under it so maybe it goes on further. Somehow we even get the bus in the 'cave' which is even better. "Finally," I say as we're done. "Can't believe it actually worked!!" Isaac says. "My plans always work," Lamar says confident. "Make a plan to get out of this middle of nowhere!!" Jordan says. "I'm working on it," Lamar says, "give me some time." "We'll see," Brittany says, "we'll see." "For now this is good," Trevor says, "they'll find us in a few days since I'm sure they noticed by now." "As long as we stay positive it will be alright," Jordan says and she smiles. It's maybe gonna be okay, but never alright. How can it ever be alright if Briar is probably laying somewhere frozen under the snow?! I'm never gonna be able to forgive this myself. Isaac pov We go all back inside. I don't feel my toes anymore and I don't know if I've ever been so hungry. I curl myself up on the couch and wait patiently until I get a little warmer. "Diner is ready!" Victoria screams excitedly from outside. I stand up a little confused why she's outside, but as I walk outside I see a pretty big fire. "Tadaa," Brittany says, "what do you think?" Victoria, Brittany and Lamar stand Proud besides the fire. "That's amazing!" Jordan says cheerful. "How?" is all I can ask. "We found some old dry wood further in the cave," Brittany explains. "And thankfully Lamar could make fire," Victoria continues. "So," Brittany says, "who wants soup." "ME!" Myles yells excited. "I'm so hungry," he says. Everyone sits around the fire and warms their hands and feet to it. "You don't have to 'pinguïn' when there's a fire," Lamar says joking, but I have no idea what he meant by it. Totally fits Lamar, weird and weird goes perfectly together. To celebrate our succes of this day we've a little more food than normally. It tastes amazing. They also boiled some snow for tea and I feel like I'm finally warming up a little. We laugh and talk around the fire for hours. It almost feels like we're just on a vacation. It's nice to forget all the problems for some hours, but as the fire dies in becomes time to go back inside. We filled water bottles with warm water to keep our feet warm in the night and also thaw some more snow so we have at least enough to drink. We all go to our bunk and continue talking while one by one everyone falls asleep. I think it's pretty late. I don't know exactly, we all putted our phones off to save our batteries. We're 100% sure we're not gonna have any bar while where here between the high trees. Maybe we'll be able to climb in a tree or something. Now that we had a good meal everything seems like going to be a lot better. Everyone is in a better mood and people come with new plans. Not that all plans are really enforceable, but who cares. I sigh happily as I close my eyes. Ones again I'm the last one awake. Just as I close my eyes I hear a scream. Instantly I open my eyes again. What was that?
