Born out of the Chaos is what the myths of mortals said about him when they still remembered his existence. Out of the Great Goddess, she who birthed all matter, who created this realm in an all-abyssal darkness after she left her own place of origin. Lost and alone she was, crying and hurting until she was saved by her people, creatures from a world he himself never laid eyes on, and then she smiled. Water, pain, and happiness` those were the things she left behind and, before leaving she, along with her partner, birthed him and raised him with a mission: to oversee this realm from its beginning to its ending. And thus, Chronos was born!
Countless moments went by, with nothing at all happening in this realm for him to oversee. Then, came a being, an entity, a young artist if you may, from a place he could not see. The young artist approached Chronos, curious about him` curious as he was about them. The entity had no physical form, for they were not descended from “Chaos”, and they thought of Chronos’ form as beautiful and fine. Chronos was pleased by their comment and gave the artist a gift. He taught them how to separate light from darkness and thus create Day and Night. With them, Chronos created Time!
With light, colors appeared in the eyes of the artist and they saw happiness, yellow and shiny, lying around where they were standing. And they thought happiness was beautiful and fine! The young artist found even more happiness and they decided to paint with it the sky. Happiness was found when their friend taught them geometry and chemistry and physics and even when they helped him built a place from where he would see all there was to be seen!
Chronos said that happiness was scattered all around the realm, but it was really hard to be found. The being decided to search the realm and find even more happiness to share with his new friend! They, the artist did, searched for happiness for countless moments but there was only so little to be found in this vast world. They only found disappointment and anger and sadness, loneliness, and sorrow! They used the new colors to paint and, mixed with happiness, they made a rich, colorful palette! Satisfied with their art, they kept on drawing but soon, their happiness ran out! Desperately, they searched for more, going deeper into the realm of matter, even when they were too tired to separate the light from the dark. Inside this Primal darkness, even after they found fear, a dirty, mustard shade of yellow, they kept searching for the bright yellow color they were lacking!
What they found instead, in that forsaken place, was abandon` so dark and empty, a nameless color that no one else ever saw, the young artist dared not touch what they had found. Using a color so sinister was for them intriguing but something else caught their eyes, liberating them from this dilemma. Grey, numb, and warm ever so slightly, when they found Nostalgia, they were mesmerized by it. The young artist had such inspiration he wanted to return to his friend right away and show him what he had found!
Traveling back, following the path of light he had left behind him, the artist finally returned home! While returning, a miracle occurred under their eyes: Nostalgia was everywhere! Chronos was so happy when his friend came home that a big smile appeared on his face and tears ran down his cheeks. Happiness, bright and yellow, was scattered around again, ever more graceful when compared with Nostalgia and its shades! Realizing that his friend could create emotions, colors with which they could draw the world, the young artist promised to draw something new for him to see every single day!
After painting millions and millions of stars, others as dots, with no detail and others with perfect geometrical forms, Chronos used his hidden magic and blessed every star and system with the ability to spin. Planets would spin around the fixed stars, completing circles in specific amounts of time so that, time could be measured in more than one way! The young artist and Chronos finished their painting and they found it fine and beautiful. And then, Day became Night.
