Chapter 1

"Hey what will it be?" She asked the man who came up to the bar smiling at her. "How'bout your number?" He was speaking very loud because of the loud music playing in the background."Order a drink and maybe I will give it to you." She said giving him a flirty smirk. He nodded and order a rum and coke. He watch her body moves to the music while making his drink. "You look so hot moving like that." He said loudly giving her the most killer smile. "Here's your rum and coke. Enjoy." She was about to walk away but he caught her by the arm and pulling her back. "You still haven't given me your number." She pat him on the shoulder "I said maybe."

She shakes his hand off and walks away. Swing her hips and climbing out the bar like a sexy feline cat. "Hey, Savannah your shift ended?" Jake was in the locker room changing into his uniform. "Yea. I asked to leave early today. I need to babysit the kid next door. Apparently the parents think they need more alone time and just end up going on a trip and leave the kid without thinking. But luckily the grandma can look after the kid during day time." Jake was shaking his head in disagreement. "Parents of the year." She chuckled "Nah.. my dad should be parent of the year. Leaving me with all the debt and now disappeared for several days." Jake came in front of her and rub her back. "Maybe he's just drunk somewhere, he'll come back eventually." She lean her head to her on the locker and shake her head. "Is would be better if he doesn't come back. He only wants money from me to gamble and drink."

Savannah's father used to be a very loving man. He always comes home early after work and help his wife to cook dinner. He loves his wife and daughter so much and he wishes to be with them forever. When his wife was diagnosed with cancer, he didn't know what to do. All he did was sitting home and drink his problems away. He goes to the hospital once in a while to see his wife when he's sober or he doesn't go all at.

After Savannah's mother pass away, the hospital expenses are still there waiting for the them to pay off. Since her father doesn't work after his wife is diagnosed, there were no income. Savannah has to work several jobs to save up money and pay back the hospital. She also need to work her ass off to pay for college and house expenses. But she didn't give up. She got help from her best friend Ethan's brother Lucas. Lucas is the manager of the club she's currently work at, the pay is good but sometimes good pay doesn't come cheap.

Savannah change out of her uniform and walk to the back door and out from the club. She hates walking the back alley because she had a very bad memory of it. But she was in a hurry so she took the risk and use the back door. It was not fully dark, there were three street lights and nobody was around. She was walking and she begin to run went she heard foot steps. Thud! Something or someone fell into the pile of garbage and there's definitely broken glass bottles in them.

She turns around and saw two feet hanging out of the garbage, but she can't see who is was. She was about to walk her away but her kindness got the better of her so she went up to see if the person needs help. "Please don't be a creep." She said to herself and slowing walking up to the person. She saw a man, a tall man that was beaten up very badly and one of his hand was holding a beer bottle. She thought maybe he was drunk and got into a fight. She can't make out what he looks like but this man was very well dressed. Doesn't seem like a person that will get into a fight consider what he wore was mostly branded and look like his from a high society background.

"Hello, are you okay?" She kick his leg and no reaction. "Sir, can you hear me?" She kick his leg again. He didn't respond but he moved his body slightly. She took the risk and place her hand on the man's face. "Hey, do you need help? Are you hurt?" His whole face was bruised. Suddenly it started raining. "I hope I won't regret this." She bend down and try to pull the man out of the garbage pile. But she failed, the man was so heavy even when she tried harder she almost end up falling into the garbage pile with him. She decided to call for help.

She went into the club and call for Lucas and Jake. She went to the bar and she sees Jake flirting with a customer. "Jake, I need your help! But first we need to find Lucas!" She hurry off to find Lucas without explaining anything to Jake. Jake was confused but he jump out of the bar and went to search for Lucas with her. "Can you tell me what's happening?" Jake was looking around trying to spot where Lucas was. "I will. But we need to find Lucas first." She saw Lucas serving the VIPs on the upper floor. "There! He's at the VIPs section." She pointed to that directed where Lucas was. "On it! Meet you at the locker room." Jake ran off to the second floor to get Lucas and she went to the locker room to wait for them.

"What's the matter?" Lucas came running with Jake. "Are you okay?" Lucas asked while checking to see if she was hurt anywhere. "No. Is not me. Is this man at the back alley." Lucas and Jake both look at each other with confusion. "Who? And why did you took the back door?" Lucas was mad at her and giving her a very angry and annoyed look. "No time to explain, now come on." She leads them to the place where the man was laying in the garbage pile.

The rain got heavier. "Here. Help me get him inside." She bend down and try to pull the man up while waiting for the guys to help her. They just stand there looking at her trying but failed. "Who is this?" Lucas asked in a very loud voice because of the heavy rain hitting the metal bins and metal roof. "Can you ask questions later and help me get him up. Please!" She was getting irritated because of the questions. "Go inside and get towels. We will handle this." Lucas pushing her gently and gesturing her go inside the club. Lucas got the lower body and Jake got the upper body and they carry him inside the club.

Savannah got towels from the staff store room and was waiting for the guys. "Hurry, get him to the staff rest room." They have a rest room for staff to take naps and they put the man down in that room. "Here." She gave both of them a towel. She kneels down beside the bed and try to dry the man's hair and face. "What are we going to do?" She asked and turn around looking at both of them. "Should we take him to the hospital?" She asked again. "Who is he, Savannah? Why is he all beaten up?" Lucas was asking in a very harsh tone. "I don't know who he is. I saw him laying in the garbage pile and it started raining. I couldn't let him stay like that. Can I?" They knew Savannah was a kind-hearted person but this is just over the line.

"Just let him be, why bother? Maybe he's just drunk, He'll be fine." Lucas said and Jake throw his hands up "I think I should go back to work." Jake leave the rest room and went back to the bar. "Savannah, just let the sick fucker be , he'll wake up." Lucas was trying to pull her away from the man but she shake his hand off. "He needs to change his clothes, he's all wet and he might get a cold." She tried to take off the man's coat and Lucas got even mad and forcefully pulled her away. "Are you f*****g kidding me? You want to change his clothes for him?" She glared at him and Lucas look away sighing. "I'll deal with him. You just go home. Don't you have to babysit or something?" She softens her eyes and smiled at him. "Thank you Lucas."

Lucas always had a soft spot for Savannah. He can't say no to her even when he knows that she was making a huge mistake of taking this man into the bar. But he helps her anyway because he has feeling for her. "Now go. I will deal with you later." He rubs his neck and help the man to change into clean and dry clothes.

Savannah took a taxis and went home straight away. She was supposed to be home by 10:30 pm but it was already 11:30 pm when she reached home. When she got to her neighbor's house, she went into the house with the keys that the couple gave her before they went on their trip. She saw the grandma holding the kid and sleeping on the rocking chair. "Hey, Miss Ableman. Sorry that I'm late. There was a emergency at my work place." Miss Ableman is a very sweet old lady that treats Savannah like her own granddaughter because she knew what situation that Savannah's in.

"Is fine my dear. Everything okay ?" She smiled at her and let Savannah take the kid off her hands. "Yes. Don't worry. Now go to bed. I'll look after him now." She stood up and gently touch her on her face. "Thank you my dear. Call me if you need anything." And she walks back to her room upstairs. "Hey, little guy. How are you today?" She suddenly felt the kid wiggling off her arms so she put him down on the couch. "Where's grand grand?" He said in the cutest sleepy voice and rubbing his eyes. "Grand Grand is sleeping. Are you hungry? Do you want a snack?" She said softly and combing his hair back from his faces. He nodded and smiled at her. "Okay. Let's see what we got." She carried him and they went into the kitchen.

The next day around 6, Savannah woke up early and head out. She thought she would check on the man before heading to class. She reach the club and she went through the front door. The club is empty and some staffs are cleaning the floor and the bar. She straight away walk into the staff rest room and saw the man was changed into clean clothes and he was still sleeping. She walk up to him and sat on the edge of the bed and put her hand on the man's face to check whether he has a fever due to the heavy rain and he was soaked when they brought him in.

As she was touching his face, she memorize him face, his eyes, his nose, his lips and the bruised. Suddenly the man caught her wrist and she was startled. His grip was tight and she can't shake off his hand. He open his eyes and look straight into her eyes. "Who are you?" He said in a deep hoarse voice. "Let go off my hand, you're hurting me." She struggle to loosen the man's grip. "I said who are you?" He raised his voice still gripping onto her. "I'm Savannah. I found you at the back alley laying in the garbage." He loosen his grip but still holding onto her. "Why am I here?" He sat up and feeling sore all over. "I asked my friends to carry you in here. It was raining and you were badly hurt." He rub he's head and his neck trying to remember what happened.

"Can you let go of me now?" She said to him in a soft and still startle voice, chewing on her bottom lip. A thing that she does when she's nervous. "So you helped me?" He asked looking into her eyes again. "Me and the two ..." she haven't even finish her sentence and she felt his lips crushed onto hers. He was kissing her forcefully and the kiss has no passion just a hard and dry kiss. She try to push him away but he was so strong that she can't even get away slightly. He broke the kiss just for a second to breath and was about to go in for another kiss, she took the chance and slap him cross the face hard. Causing his face hit on the wall. "What the f**k you think you're doing?!" She wipe her lips with the back of her hand and almost cried because bad memories came flooding into her head. He was smiling and giving her the most dirty smirk. "I'm just paying you back your kindness." He felt a stinging feeling on his face and he touch his face, and saw some blood stained on his fingers.

She saw his face which was bleeding a little, she may have scratched his face when she slapped him. But she was not sorry for hitting him because of the way he acted. "Asshole!" she said under her breath and ran out the room. He heard her and he just sat there laughing. On her way out she bumped into Lucas but she didn't stop. Lucas saw her teary eyes but before he could caught up to her, she was already gone. Instantly her thought of the man in the rest room. He barged into the room and saw the man standing up.

He didn't think twice and he punched the man in the face. "What did you did to her,huh?" Lucas was extremely mad. He hits him the second time when he saw the man's dirty smirk. "I'm was just simply thanking her for helping me" The man shake off his hand and straighten up himself. Wiping off the blood on the corner of his mouth "She didn't like the way I thanked her." Lucas was going insane "You motherfucker!" He screams and started punching the man again. The staffs heard someone was screaming so they came in to see what's going on and saw what happened. They all pulled Lucas off the man.

"LET GO OF ME! THIS MOTHERFUCKER TOUCHED SAVANNAH! I'LL MAKE YOU PAY!" The staffs had a hard time holding him back, because he was struggling so much. The man just brush himself off and walk out from the room and disappeared. "COME BACK HERE YOU MOTHERFUCKER! I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU!" The staffs try to calm him down. "Calm down man, he's gone." He tried to calm down but still in rage. "Why did you guys stop me from kicking that guy's ass?" The all looked at him like he's crazy. "Any more you will kill that guy. You want to go to jail because of that or you want to stay here and protect Savannah?" He try to think straight. But all he can think of was Savannah crying and begging to be saved. He shake off the thought and ran out of the room and went to search for Savannah.
