She knows, and yet ...

Chapter Eleven.

Isabella walked into her room and collapsed on the bed once again. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep tonight with the way her heart was skipping so many beats, and the way she couldn't stop thinking about him. She doesn't even knows him that much, she's not even Alexa.

She's just a poor woman doing all this for money. She's not supposed to be feeling this way. All this absurdness should be casted away. She wanted it to go, she can't accept it. She had read it already in the contract right? That she's not allowed to fall in love with Adrian, or anyone around him during her time pretending to be Alexa.

So... Why is she feeling this way? She couldn't have already fallen for him so fast! Isabella began kicking all over the bed, frustrated at herself, frustrated at her heart for reaching out of him that way. If this keeps up, she's gonna be the one hurt at the very end.

He already said he's heartless, even though he keeps giving her little signs that he isn't completely so. And the way he had stared at her at the beach had been magical... She had been spellbound right at the spot and couldn't even say a word.

And the hug, she knows he's holding back. She knows that fully well that he's holding back on her, even the last time. She knows he's dangerous, and mysterious. She knows and yet, she can't control how she feels. It just happens. What is she supposed to do now?

Adrian walked into the sitting room, his eyes focused on the road to his room. She needn't mind the man that was quietly seated on his couch, legs crossed and tapping away on his phone. Ignoring each other, Adrian walked into his room and shut the door right behind him.

He changed into a new set of clothes and walked out of his room again. He walked past the sitting room again and headed for the refrigerator inside the kitchen then pulled it open. Since he's alone, he doesn't has to pretend or anything..

He pulled out the raw meat that was packaged and tore the packaging apart, then he began feasting his hunger upon the meat. When he was done, he then decided to give a little of his attention to the guest relaxing in his house without permission.

He was in the kitchen when he spoke, but the guest could hear his loud and clear.

" What are you doing here?? " Adrian asked while gulping down so water.

" Making sure you don't go on another rampage" The man replied just as smoothly as Adrian used to.

" If you don't want me going on rampage, You have two options. One, Find Zayn so I can chop off his bones myself, or two, Kill me"

The man didn't reply, instead he concentrated even more on his phone. Though his face gave out no clue on what he was thinking of, there was a relaxing yet determined look on his face. After a while, he finally gave Adrian another look...more like it was the first time he was noticing his presence in the room.

" I've moved Into the guest room, instead" he replied blatantly.

Adrian almost flared, but realized it was useless. The man would simply ignore him again, like he always does. That habit of his annoyed the s**t out of him!

With that, Adrian walked away. Oh, he had even forgotten. Alexa hadn't told him the unusual thing that happened to her while he was away... something was fishy and he could smell it in the air. She kept avoiding eye contact with him, and that was what gave her away.

He has to go back and confirm his suspicions, but first...

It was twelve AM in the morning, and the whole neighborhood was peaceful and quiet as most of them were sound asleep. Earlier that night before Bella had returned back, he had let someone else inside the house and had taken the person to the second guest room. It had been an unexpected visitor for she didn't inform him that she was gonna be coming tonight.

Once Bella had eaten dinner and retired back to her room, and he made sure that she had fallen fast asleep, he now found his way towards the other guest room. Tch, what was she doing here now? Wasn't she staying together with Alexa outside the country? She should know better than be here.

Without knocking he let himself into the room and faced the middle aged woman who was staring back at her reflection through the mirror, applying some powder on her face.

" You're going to sleep. Why do you still wear make-up, mum?!"

She glanced at him through the mirror, and a small smile touched her lips, " you have no idea about beauty, I have to always look beautiful. Even when I'm asleep!"

" You've always been obsessed with it. It's what made you go through multiple surgeries huh? And yet you still think you're not beautiful enough"

" Well" she kept down the powder and turned her chair around, facing him, " I'm not so sad anymore, I did give birth to Three beautiful children. And don't forget it was because of this flawless face that Benson got married to me "

James rolled his eyes.

" What are you doing here, mother?"

" What? Has it become a crime to come back to the States?" Natalie retorted.

" You were supposed to stay with Alexa till it's complete. Being here alone is a huge risk and you know it!""

" I know, but some things came up and I have to take care of them. They can't be ignored"

" If it's about Richard, he's taking care of the company very good. There is no problem!"

" Oh sure there is. Now tell me, Does this girl really looks so much alike to Alexa?"

" Alexa must have filled you in with her details right? Why do you still ask me?"

" Oh well" Natalie shrugged, " It's a good thing we found her though. I can't imagine ever throwing Alexa Into the hands of the devil. At least she's tucked safely away from all this, and just has to rest her wings till it's over. James, what about the Elixier?"

" You know it's not with me. It's with them for now. The only thing left is to find out how to diagnose it first, and them we would strike!"

" I feel bad for that poor soul though...Bella or what was her name again?" Natalie shook her head in pity " Only if she's lucky can she get out of this ordeal. And her luck has to be very great at that"

" Unfortunately, When it comes to the devil...not even luck can save you"

" If only she was rich like us, she wouldn't have been easily swayed without knowing what awaited her up ahead. Guess we are all in trouble too"

" But we have them right? And once it's all over, we would finally be able to rest. That monster would dissapear from the surface of this Earth, and our revenge would be completed!"

" Right? Everything we went through would be worth it!"

Swayed by money. It happens to almost every poor person out there. Once they run out of options, then could easily be tricked. From the second James had laid eyes on bella, he began to have even more hope about their plans. And as desperate as she was, she was quick to sign the contract and accept their terms.

And like His mum had said, if she was truly lucky and gets out of all this alive...Well all that would be left is to shut her up for good. And if she doesn't which is the most likely to happen, then that means it had gone smoothly with her.

But of course she would be paid accordingly for a job well done, but the money would go to her sister and Kid that is when she's no longer alive, after all she's clearly doing all this for them.

The plan had been in motion, and they knew just how much they were risking for their plan to come to pass.

They are up against the strongest opponent, and since they began there's no going back for any of them. They all had made up their minds, the pain and will had pushed them forward! Doing this would probably be fruitful for many people, but many might have to be sacrificed along the way too.

" Yes" James replied with a slight nod " it's all gonna be worth It "

His attention was now back at his mum, and he gave her a sharp look, " When are you leaving? Make it tomorrow!"

" I already told you I have things I need to sort out here!""

" And what are those things? You know the reason I sent you and Alexa away was to keep you safe till it's completed. Why did you have to show up here again? If there was something you needed to take care of, why didn't you ask me to take care of it since I was here?"

" You worry too much James. It's just a short visit"

" Leave early this morning!!" He deadpanned on her.

She grumbled in reply, " Ugh! You so haven't changed at all. Not even glad to see your own mother huh?"

" I'll be more than glad to see you when everything is fine"

" Fine, whatever!" She turned the chair around and faced the mirror once again, a frown on her face, " I'll leave tomorrow, as soon as I see just how much Bella looks like Alexa"

" Mum!!"

Isabella was awake. It was still nighttime though, but she got out of bed to use the bathroom. She had thought she wouldn't be able to fall asleep thinking about Adrian so much and arguing with her mind that she hadn't fallen in love with him.

Walking out of the bathroom, her eyes wandered to the windows Adrian had came through. Could he had been there all those while? Like he had let himself in suddenly in the middle of their call. Her heart had almost jumped out of her chest.

Isabella then walked up to the window, and threw one of them open letting the cold night air hit her face. She looked out the window, and who was she kidding? Why was she hoping to see him there?

Her eyes then landed on something lying on her window. It looked sparkly and when she reached out and took it, it turned out to be a bracelet. It looked like it was made with stones that looked expensive, especially A blue one that stood out mostly.

It was beautiful. Who had left it hanging here?

" Finally found my gift?" She heard a voice from out of nowhere, and the first thing she resorted into was quickly shutting the window close and diving under the bed. But, a figure jumped out from the streets below and landed right on her open window, making her shriek with fear and fall backwards, the bracelet rolling out of her hands.

Blue diamond eyes stared down at her, " Hello again, Alexa. Or...Bella, I should say"
