If I had looked more closely, I would have seen her red, twitching nose.
Her pupils reflected my appearance, as if we'd met years ago.
A young girl fought with a group of people.
They called her a bastard, a s**t, a lowlife.
She was beaten until she couldn't get up.
Through the window of the store, i can see the heavy rain.
Everyone on the street walked quickly, but she remained motionless.
In the dim light, the rainwater on her clothes disappeared.
The girl raised her head and met my gaze.
She looked angry.
We didn't speak.
I saw her school name tag.
Mila.
She covered it after she realized what I was looking.
“What are you looking at?”
"Get out... Go away.”
Her disguise was like an exploded hedgehog.
I threw my umbrella into her arms:
“Don't you know how to hide when it rains?”
...
We became friends.
I was in the classroom doing my homework, she was idly accompanying me.
She followed me to the store.
I could see her figure no matter what I did.
I met Ken later.
He was bright, clean and white. He got good grades and always smelled of lemon. His family was poor, but he got scholarships. I liked his efforts and respect his tenacity. But I knew he had a childhood sweetheart.
They stood together like a man and woman in a TV drama.
I still loved him and pursued him.
The mad love grew until that day.
Hannah Moore was there in the dark alley.
People grabbed my hands and knees and made me kneel.
Hannah Moore stood in the shadows, forcing me to look at her:
"Do you like him?"
The knife hit my face.
"Good! I'll ruin your face today!"
I closed my eyes and waited for something else.
Hannah Moore cried out in pain as a stone knocked the knife out of her hand.
Mila stood in the light, holding a bat and a lollipop.
"Hannah Moore, this is all you can do."
Mila said, "Useless thing."
Hannah Moore fell to the ground in fear, pointing at some nearby punks.
“You guys, beat her up!”
“If you cripple her, I have a reward for you.”
They lost.
After a while, all the people she brought lay down on the ground
Mila wiped his mouth and walked towards Hannah Moore.
Hannah Moore pushed me away and backed up, shivering.
"Stay away!"
"You wild seed!"
She felt a hand around her neck.
"What did you say?”
Hannah Moore was slapped. Five fingerprints were left on her face.
"This slap is an apology to my mother."
She didn't expect Mila to beat her up, she was a little surprised.
"You're crazy! You bastard!”
Hannah was beaten in a daze, but Mila didn't stop.
When Mila was very young, her father had an affair. The mistress brought Hannah Moore, who was five years old, to Mila's house.
Mila's mother fell ill and died.
When the next slap was about to fall, someone called out.
“Stop!"
Someone pushed Mila away.
Hannah Moore fell into Ken's arms, looked at him with tear-soaked eyes and said, "Ken, I'm in pain..."
Ken looked at her with heartache.
Then looked at me.
"Cloris! You really went overboard this time!”
I saw disgust in his eyes for the first time.
I held onto Mila and tried to explain:
"It's not like that...”
But he didn't want to hear a word and left with Hannah Moore in his arms
I stopped crying, and Mila didn't say anything.
She raised her hand to wipe away my tears, but after a while, she put it down
I walked in front, Mila followed behind.
She didn't come closer. I needed space.
"Stop following me!”
“Go home!”
Mila's hand was tight on the coat, like a puppy that made a mistake.
I still remember that look. It made my heart feel sour, like pressing on glass slag.
She looked at me, her mouth opening and closing. Finally, she spoke:
“But... I don't have a home anymore...”
