CHRISTOF I’d done it purposely. Not answering Tanisha’s endless calls and string of messages, not giving her a heads up about me not being home. I wanted her to drive there, punctual as ever, only to be told I wasn’t present. Let the wheels in her head turn. Last night had been great, regardless of that disastrous dinner. After gifting Pepa the cars, her laughter echoed off concrete and marble, we’d gone upstairs to the suite at the hotel.
