The Unwanted Marriage

Chapter 2

  Standing with her back as stiff as a rod, Kathrin scanned the forest in fort of her. once she recognized the sent, she relaxed and mind-linked her brothers.

    ' I can smell you, idiots. why are you trying to hide? '

    All at once, three big wolves came out of hiding. Two of them were an identical deep shade of brown, their only difference being their eyes. One of them had deep green eyes like hers, and the other had an even deeper brown than his fur. Those two were the twins, Darek and Daemon. Beside them was a black wolf. His fur was so dark that if it were night, you would not see him. his eyes a deep blue and his name was Liam.

    ' Come on sis, we almost got you, what's got you so distracted? ' said Daemon, teasing his little sister. The four siblings cross the distance between them, to meet in the middle.

    ' Nothing, I was just thinking, ' she said, not wanting to talk. Her brothers thankfully got the message ad moved on to why they're here.

    ' Father sent us to get you, ' said Liam reluctantly, wanting to spare his little sister a bit longer for their father.

    ' What does he want know, ' Kathrin said irritated. ' doesn't he know it's my birthday? He promised birthdays were my days off. ' she said, whining.

    ' He didn't tell us, ' said Darek.

    ' Only to come and get you right away, ' finished the other twin.

    ' All right, let's go, we don't want to keep him waiting long, ' said Kathrin, even though she really did not want to leave.

    They all started running towards their house at top speed. Kathrin at the front, having surpass her brother’s speed.

    This time, she didn't have the chance to enjoy her run, her mind to busy wondering what her father wanted with her. The run back was to short for her liking. at the edge of the forest they all shifted back to their human form. The boys putting on some pants behind a tree. Kathrin, how ever, had never needed an extra pair of clothes when she shifted. no one knew why. It was also another reason the other kids her age had never approached her. they thought she was a freak of nature.

    Once her brothers came out, they made their was towards her. the twins side by side on her left, and Liam on her right.

    " I wonder what he wants, " Kathrin said, thinking out loud. Though no one answered her, letting her think.

    Once again, they reached their destination to fast for Kat’s liking. She barely got to think of any kind of reason for her father to call for her. Behind her she could hear one of her brothers clearing his throat. She turned around to see them all standing there, looking anxious.

   " He said to tell you to meet him in his office right away, " Liam said, still not moving forward.

   " He told us that we are not to go with you, " said Daemon.

   " All right, I’ll see you guys later then. Wish me luck. " Kat said, sad to be separated from them. She turned around, to walk up the stairs that led to the back door of their house. Opening the door quietly, she entered the kitchen. It was empty, normally, by this time of the day, there were at least a couple of omega’s getting the food ready. She tried not to think about it to much as she made her way to the second floor to where her father’s office was. On her way there, she didn’t see anybody. It wasn’t normal. Something was going on that she didn’t know about. Nearing her father’s office, she could hear voices. She was pretty sure they were arguing, because they were really loud. Even with her heighted senses, they shouldn’t sound that loud. One voice, she knew as her fathers, but she couldn’t recognize the other one. She wondered who her father could be arguing with, and about what.

    Reaching the door, she knocked three times and waited to hear her father’s voice telling her to come in. after her first knock, the arguing stopped automatically, and her father called for her to come in. she opened the door and saw her father seated behind his desk as she closed the door. She didn’t get to look around to find the owner of the other voice before her father started talking.

    " Kathrin! Finally, you’re here, what are you wearing?! " He says, displeased by her appearance.

    " I went for a run, I didn’t know you wanted to see me. They told me to come straight away, so I didn’t bother going up to change or to shower. Would you rather I go up and change Alpha? " she said trying not to cause a fight, but while still standing her ground.

    " no that’s all right, we don’t have all day anyway, " her father saud waving it away. She wondered what they had to do for her not to have the time to change into proper clothes.

    " Kathrin, may I introduce to you, you fiancé, Alpha Jared Black. You will be leaving with him tomorrow morning, " her father said, looking smug.

   Wait, did he say fiancé!
